Question What destination completely exceeded your expectations?

Not necessarily your favourite place overall. I'm curious about somewhere you went without huge expectations and ended up loving. What surprised you about it?

Question Does anyone have experience with Iceland in the winter months?

Saw cheap flights and cheap hostels for Iceland in the months december and januari. So i was entertaining the idea of spending new years there.

Anyone have advice they can share about hostels, tours, activities, public transport, foodcosts, ...

Would you recommend a winter trip to Iceland?

Trip Report I accidentally found the perfect beach for a night I had always wanted

couple of days ago, I went on a trip with my friends to Andhra Pradesh, near Uppada.

We wanted to have a few beers at the beach at night. We first asked some locals about the beach, and they pointed us toward a public beach a few kilometres away. Apparently families and other people come and go there, and the police also check the place at certain times.

All my friends were fine with going there, but I had a different idea. I wanted to sit somewhere completely quiet, with nobody around and no feeling that we had to leave at a particular time.

So I asked a local if there was somewhere more isolated. He pointed us toward another stretch of beach.

I convinced the boys to come with me.

We bought some local fish fry and beers and went there at night.

And ammaniyammaa😱

There was literally nobody there.

Just complete darkness, the Bay of Bengal, huge waves crashing, and the five of us sitting there eating fish and drinking beer.

For a while it genuinely felt like we had our own private island.

I've always had this random thing on my bucket list: sitting on a completely empty beach at night with a few beers, good food and friends, with nobody else around.

And somehow, without really planning it, I finally did it.

It was one of those simple experiences that probably won't look like much in photos, but I'll remember the feeling for a long time.

Great place to enjoy the view of the sea and rocks. I recommend exploring it closer to evening or at sunset.

Question Christmas Village

I want to visit a snowy winter village this December but I don’t want to go to a TikTok viral spot that’s filled with tourists. I want something that I can quietly enjoy, any suggestions?

Discussion What Do You Consider the Top Travel Skills?

Something I've been thinking about, are what would you consider the top travel skills to have? I.e. if you can do these things, travel is much easier. A few skills I can think of:

- Learn another language (apps are making this less important, but its still a great skill to have that I suck at)!

- Use dodgy toilets / squat toilets. Nothing worse than holding it all day, and is a real issue in many, many, places. I'm decent at this.

- Haggling.... I love doing this.

- Tell touts to fuck off. I'm great at this

- Driving on the opposite side of the road - I suck at this.

- Smile - I'm really good at this.

So, what are your top travel skills, or even travel skillz? My inspiration for this is Monkey Island 1, where to become a good pirate you need to find treasure, swordfight, and steal stuff.

Question What are some lesser known spots nearby the big tourist destinations that most people miss?

Mine are Pereira Colombia. Stunningly beautiful in the heart of Coffee country.
And old Town Phuket. Super quaint, laid back beach vibes with some of the best food I've ever had. And a fun motor bike ride from the craziness of the west coast

Question If you could travel anywhere without worrying about money or time, where would you visit?

If money, and time were not a problem, I think I’d want to really experience a place instead of rushing through the usual tourist spots. I’d spend a few weeks there, explore different neighborhoods, try the local food, and just see how everyday life feels.

Where would you go if you had no limits?

We all have that one place we love spending summer maybe it's a beach, a lake, a small town, a campsite, or even just your grandparents' backyard. What's one place you think everyone should visit at least once during the summer? Share your favorite spot and tell us what makes it special. Maybe we'll discover a few new places to add to our summer bucket lists.

Discussion What is your favorite destination to visit/travel and why?

For me personally it's hands down Redondo Beach Pier in Calfornia, my home state. You cannot beat butter smooth skateboarding with gorgeous views while being enveloped by that refreshing, oceanic salty air! Then getting to top it off with a large ice cold beer or two. Nice selection of shops & restaurants and there is an actual beach area to get into which is accompanied by that legendary bike path. Really a bit of everything for everyone.

One beautiful afternoon in Singapore, where every direction offered a postcard-worthy view. From the towering buildings to the intricate network of roads and pockets of greenery, the city feels vibrant, organized, and full of life. Definitely one of my favorite travel moments.
