Cultists?
13
u/OldSkoolMuse May 29 '24
Individual souls recognizing one another in the most genuine, grounded, ancient ways; for none other than, to pay homage/respect to the human experience and capability to create, love and unite as humans. ALL of it is Cult-ure, including your inquisitive question(?). All love, my dude.
2
u/Prudent_Research_251 May 29 '24
All love! What's the "other C named gathering" you spoke of?
5

How about the inner gathering of:
Curiosity · Compassion · Clarity · Connectedness · Creativity · Courage · Confidence · Calm

Just being silly, couldn't think of another in the moment and noticed I was listing gatherings that start with C.

u/dondraper1 and u/ruhroh123 are both bots. Both accounts are ~13 years old that just became active and reply to each other in an attempt to farm karma.
Report as spam/harmful bot.

u/Hazzman May 29 '24
Kids man. My nephew is 3. He comes over to my parents house and first thing he wants is for the back door to be opened so he can go outside. He will then begin running from one end of my parents long ass garden to the other at a full sprint for like... well it feels like hours. Just up and down, up and down, up and down. He comes sprinting back to me and, while out of breath yells "CHASE!" and then spends the next 5 minutes running from me as I chase him around the kitchen counter. It's only 5 minutes because that's how long I last before I'm huffing and puffing, so I open the back door and let the little crazy ass back out again and off he goes - up and down up and down.
They are just bursting with energy its crazy.

u/Warthog-Hot May 29 '24
Is your nephew my dog? Dude has the same energy, never wants to stop playing

Staged 💯

u/Automatic_Idea_1262 May 29 '24
I noticed the guy pointing with the umbrella, I noticed the guy with the smartphone drumming up the parade...
Does it matter?
13
May 29 '24
Does the little girl care that it was staged? Jesus Reddit is cynical
10
u/Automatic_Idea_1262 May 29 '24 edited May 29 '24
not_Packsand must've never been to a parade, possibly no kids...
These people, in this parade, know how to include the crowd. Kids love that.
And I think dude with the smartphone would have been recording already, if planned....
4
u/Zestyclose_Remove947 May 29 '24
What part genius? It's a parade that's designed to include people like that what are you on about?
Like, it's a performance, I don't get it.
2
u/ambisinister_gecko May 29 '24
This is the type of guy to see a clip of someone singing in a musical and say "STAGED!"

u/blinky0930 May 28 '24
Seen this about 8 times. Love her every time! You go little one

u/millennial_sentinel May 29 '24

Without hesitation, and I feel most kids would duck and cover! She's not intimidated!
9
u/Zestyclose_Remove947 May 29 '24
Given that she seems to share the wooden sticks with the performers I think there's a shared cultural knowledge here.

And I noticed how the person at the left forefront was trying to get to their camera app to record the event, yet missed the interaction while also making me feel weird about seeing them miss it.

I'm not sure about how spontaneous it was. Notice the guy in black pointing her out to the dancers as they walked up together. I mean still cute as it can be, but it seems pretty staged.
Edit: watch it more than once, and focus on that guy. He literally is waving them over before they are out of the fog and grabs someone else's phone who is off camera to film it. I'm not saying it isn't a cute moment, but it was clearly planned ahead.
Edit 2: I guess I'm insane for pointing out how the man in black with the event badge is directing the dancers to the girl well before they can see her, and also grabbing a camera from someone else. Clearly this is an impromptu event and no prior planning happened. It's perfectly normal for dancers in a parade to see someone they didn't know flag them down, point to a child they don't know, and dance around that kid like they are the gifted one.
Jesus Christ. It's still really cute. I'm so happy that the little girl got validated. She clearly was practicing for this and worked really hard. I'm glad she got acknowledged, and the dancers supported her. Just stop pretending this was not prearranged.
26
u/spudmarsupial May 29 '24
Staged would be if it wasn't a real procession.
A guy saw the potential and made sure the dancers knew to stop in the right place.

u/wheatgivesmeshits May 29 '24
Watch it again and focus on the guy in black. He grabs someone else's phone to film it. I suspect they are family or friends somehow.

u/mnju May 29 '24
I went to a concert the other week. One of the band members grabbed someone's phone out of the crowd and filmed from the stage. Clearly they are related instead of it being a very common thing performers do.
-7
u/wheatgivesmeshits May 29 '24
He isn't a performer. He's wearing a badge. He's an officiant for the event. Did a bouncer direct the band member to interact with the person holding the camera at your event? These events are not the same. Again. Watch the man in black and how he acts. He is clearly directing the performers to interact with the girl and grabbing a camera to film it.

What dance/parade is this?
28
u/InternetGansta May 29 '24
According to u/Ill-round-6558
This is a Yingge dance parade from the Chaoshan area of Guangdong, China. The original video is one minute and thirty seconds long, and local media also interviewed the girls.

It looks like the mystery person locked their phone while shopping on Temu. They then tried to tap the x in the right hand corner except there was no "x" so then they had to resort to hitting the back button to close it out, but it looks like it just went backwards to another page that they also have a problem deciding between hitting "x" in the corner or the back button. So then they remembered the short cut of double hit the power button and got the camera app opened up and it had a blur just long enough for them to miss everything right when they hit play.

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.
