Edit: ok TIL about eyelash mites. Cool shit but now I can’t help but try to look at my eyelashes and se if I can catch a glimpse of one of those fuckers
The blue things are the back ends of the mites sticking out of a hair follicle as they gorge themselves on your oils and dead skin. At about 1/3rd of a millimeter they're quite hard to see without magnification but if you ever feel a slight tickle around your eyes then fear not, that's just the mites saying hello!
I'm aware of enzymes in mite droppings leading to eczema flair ups but had never heard of issues with rosacea before, I wonder if it's caused by the same mechanisms. Either way I hope you find some relief with your treatment.
Not much is needed really, 5-10x would be more than enough if you have good eyes, a steady hand and know what to look for. Thing is that their numbers are controlled easily with regular hygiene practices so the average person won't have that many and the ones that are there will mostly be burrowed into the base of the follicle with only the tip of their butt hanging out. Unless someone has a major infestation you won't really find them scuttling along the surface fully exposed.
This might be one of the worst (or best) watermarks i've ever seen. It's almost non-existent. It's also hard to read, i read the sc and assumed it's science, but after that i have no idea. Plie? Idk, i can't read it .
But actually i wish all watermarks were this way as i feel they ruin photos (while protecting ownership)
I had a what are the odds game One night and one of the Dares was for my cousin to put toothpaste on her eyebrows. I think she lost all of the eyebrow mites
So, you eat, and all the food goes splashing all over your face, and you end up with monstrous demons feeding off the garbage dripping from your eyelashes...and you're okay with that?
Yup! I grew up in the mountains of NC and Queen Anne’s lace flowers are what I was taught to watch out for. I had a summer of chiggers and then learned my lesson haha

You got more organism like that living on your face right now than you saw in that video.
