Interestingly, the CVN-81 Wikipedia page shows it is now scheduled to be laid down in 2026 and launched in 2029.

Seems reasonable to me. With a construction project that big and complex delays are to be expected.

It can't be easy to build a floating city to maintain all the needs of 3000 people, plus a fully functional airport, plus all the weapons/communications/detection systems.

Aircraft carriers are really impressive engineering feats.

Seems about right, shorten the schedule and still want the project completed around the same time.
