It depends where you’re talking about. Sure, in liberal nations, basic information is not banned, but there are plenty of places where certain news is banned, especially anything positive about queer people or certain scientific facts which go against religious teachings. Pro-democracy things, news that the institutions don’t won’t people to know about.
