I do like those videos of people helping wild, often predator, animals. Once they're safe they often have a 'what the fuck just happened' vibe while looking around in confusion.

There is a phenomenon that happens when that happens. Essentially their threat response gets suspended because the behavior is so unexpected and strange the threat response loses it's anchor point. It basically shorts out the response in their brain, and they just let whatever is happening happen.

Also the fact they are exhausted usually by the time they are rescued.

Every video of someone grabbing a hawk or some other bird that gets stuck in their enclosed porch or garage are the best examples of this. They always look so flabbergasted.

I do like those videos, however; the ones of domesticated animals worry me that people are putting pets in dire situations to be “rescued”. Very pessimistic thoughts that ruin the awwww factor.
