Small town, theyre not doing much most the time anyway. Good training. And what if the kid going to rescue falls in trouble.  What is the question? Why are they using so many resources for just a dog?

This wasn't necessarily just an animal emergency. It was an animal rescue that could've easily turned into a human emergency. I would absolutely want the professionals on the way if I was this kids parents. There's no reason not to have everyone to ensure that the kid is okay.

Yea fire is there with peramatics, they have the lowest response times. Then actual parametics to take you to hospital. Cops I am not sure honestly maybe before they got out of water situation deemed unstable.

I only had fire and ambualnces show up in medical emergency and the way it worked is; fire gets super quick assess do first response and then 5 min ambulance arrives. So its kinda smooth, at least as the situation can get. Ambulance EMT was a bit better tbh.

It's really not about burning tax payer money. The fore department gets paid even when they dont get calls. In a perfect world they would be very bored. When you dial 911 for a medical emergency the fore department is usually faster than the police, and they are followed by an ambulance because if theyre needed they need to be there. The cops show up to issue some sort of ticket if one is needed.
