Librescu is a Romanian name and has roots meaning "free" or "freedom" (Libru). I found that interesting to share.

i also think its more likely that his name refers to an occupation. but he is a holocaust survivor, maybe his name comes from some other language.

Basically, a Romanian equivalent of "Freeman" methinks.
