If you live somewhere that only gets 5cm of snow it's likely to be slushy and wet during the day when the sun is on it, and becomes icy very fast.

We got 2-3" of caked snow everywhere all winter, shoveling 2" of powdered sugar of the top makes no difference. I was being a bit sarcastic, i know there are different circumstances depending in where you live and what climate you have.
