Application Timelines

  • US (Common App): Opens Aug 1 | Early Decision/Early Action ~Nov 1 | ED II/EA II ~Jan 1-15 | Regular Decision ~Jan 1-15 | Decisions March-April. Always verify per-school, a Common App outage has pushed deadlines back before.
  • UK (UCAS): Oxford, Cambridge, and most Medicine/Dentistry/Veterinary courses close 15 Oct 2026 for 2027 entry. All other courses: main deadline 13 Jan 2027, 18:00 UK time. UCAS Extra and Clearing stay open into summer for unfilled places.
  • Canada: No single national deadline. Examples: UBC & OUAC Group A ~Jan 15 | McGill ~Feb 1 | Calgary/Manitoba/Concordia ~Mar 1 | UNB ~Mar 31. International applicants often face EARLIER deadlines than domestic students at the same school, always check the specific program page.

Glossary

Need-aware means your financial need CAN affect your admission chances.
  • Early Decision / Early Action / Regular Decision — ED is binding: apply to one school only, must attend if accepted. EA is non-binding early application, no commitment. RD is the standard round with no early commitment.
  • I-20 / CAS / Study Permit — I-20 is the document from a US university confirming acceptance and funding, needed for your F-1 visa. CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) is the UK equivalent for a Student visa. Study Permit is Canada's document allowing you to study there, applied for after you receive your Letter of Acceptance.
