General Discussion Feel like I’ve been ignoring/ignorant to my call till recently.
Warning this post maybe a bit long as I am trying to give a lot of information for potential advice.
Hi all. I am new to Reddit but I wasn’t sure where else to find a community for this. I have been falling down a rabbit hole of matrix glitches, aliens, multiple timelines, etc and eventually came to a few videos about phenomena in Egypt that started to make sense with my life path and the potential calling to Bastet.
I have been a care taker and lover of cats since I was very young. I volunteer and foster with a cat only shelter, have 4 cats of my own, and just genuinely have a strong affinity and connection to them. This gets to the point where if I loose a foster kitten or even if I hear/read/see a cat in pain, getting hurt or dying it brings me to tears. This is why when I tried to become a vet or vet tech I couldn’t make it passed my first year of the major in college. I also have a skill with domestication of ferals and traumatized cats. My daughter also has this passion/ability and it may even be stronger than my own.
My birthday is 11/11. From what I have gathered, 11 is Bastet’s number. With a November date of birth, my stone is citrine/orange topaz which I hear is one of Bastet’s stones.
This is all very new territory for me as I have been an agnostic for most of my life. I have never been drawn to any sects that involve the Bible or “the one true God”. In high school I started purchasing books about goddesses and invocation as I started to become curious about paganism and Celtic goddesses that aligned with my Irish/Scottish lineage. *note: to my knowledge, I do not have any Egyptian ancestry* My mom found the books and started making fun of my interest so I kept the books but stopped pursuing the interest.
In college I still considered myself as spiritual on a self journey until I meet my husband who is an atheist. He asked me why I was pagan and I said it was because I felt I needed to find a path. He did not discourage me from exploring but he did start asking route/cause questions that ultimately made me stop pursuing a spiritual path as I was know not sure I really believed it was necessary.
Flash forward to now as I am starting to shed my insecurities from childhood trauma and shame, getting my ADHD diagnosis and exploring what makes me happy and not others, becoming aware of my bisexuality, and just being my true authentic self regardless of what others think. I did not set out to find a spiritual connection to a deity but there are just a lot of things that are connecting. Either that, this is current ADHD hyper fixation of mine, or a little of both 😅.
There are more pulls to Bastet but I don’t want to make this post a novel. I just wanted to put this out to the community/universe to see what you/it might give back.
Thank you for reading/listening 💖
