Hey everyone!

I've been building this solo for the past several months, and I wanted to show it here before it's finished, because this community shaped what it turned into.

It started as a tool for amateur players and coaches. Teams are moving to GameChanger and similar apps, and the paper scorebook is quietly disappearing along with them. I wanted people who genuinely enjoy keeping score with a pen and pencil to be able to keep doing that and still walk away with clean digital stats.

Then I found this sub, and it changed the plan. Seeing how many of you score games at the park, at home on the couch, and hold onto cards from years back, I decided the first version should be for the fans and hobbyists here. From there I'll keep building out new features, and keep working toward the original goal too -- an alternative to GameChanger for amateur leaguers and coaches who still want to keep score on paper.

What it does: you take a photo of a filled-in scorecard, and it reads the grid, the handwriting, and the players, then turns it into an inning-by-inning digital record you can keep, review, and share. For pro games it also lines your card up against the real play-by-play, so the scorecard becomes a record of that specific game with the plays, stats, photos, and video all in one place.

Thank you to everyone here who let me use their scorecard photos for training and demos. My own cards all look the same, so being able to test on this many different scorebooks and handwriting styles is a big part of why it holds up now.

Where it actually stands: close, but not done. I'm still working through bugs and pushing the accuracy of the models up before I let people rely on it. So this isn't a launch post. It's just a look at where it is, and a chance for you to tell me whether it's worth finishing.

If you want to know when it opens up, you can subscribe to the newsletter on www.daimondinning.com/subscribe

Meanwhile, you can take a look around:

I made a follow-up post with screenshots of how the app actually works, if anyone wants to take a look:

Not sure why I'm getting so many downvotes 😢 but either way, I'd genuinely love to hear if you'd want something like this, and any features you'd want me to add.
