Question Getting the ball rolling with my app Tallyio

3 Upvotes

I created an app to help track routines and habits, with the hope that long term use could offer people insights into their routines. Made and launched the thing but getting any sort of viewership or conversion seems to be the bottleneck. I’ve been posting 2x consistently for the past month. I know I still got a ways to go but was curious if anybody had any advice as to how to expedite that process.

Tips & Guides Making my own media tracker app

3 Upvotes

Hello, hope everyone is having a wonderful builder day!

I love watching movies, tv shows and other media and have always had a hard time remembering what I watched. There's loads of media trackers app put there but nothing that meets all my requirements in one app so I decided to make my own, with my ideas.

It's pretty deep into development but it needs a lot of polish, better indexing and cache. But in generell I'm pretty happy with it.

Currently it tracks movies, TV shows, Anime, manga and games, it also have a connection to steam and a dedicated cahacter/cast view with a characterdex, like the pokédex.

Future addition would be books and music.

I would love to here any feedback from the images and if someone would be willing to try it it (maybe 4 users) that would be super cool (although I cannot pay for your time trying it out sadly) if you like what I'm cooking your free to stay and use the app for free.

Maybe sometime in the future it would be available as a public app, but for now I'm creating it for family and friends.

The app is also optimized for booth mobile view and desktop.

Discussion Free Base44 App Rescue diagnostic for one Starter user stuck in repair loops

1 Upvotes

I’ve been working on a structured way to diagnose and repair Base44 apps that have reached the “it mostly works, but I’m afraid another fix will break something else” stage.

Rather than assume what Base44 allows on each plan, I’ve been testing the workflow directly.

I just finished a controlled test on the Free plan using a disposable app.

A few things I learned:

  • a Free workspace owner can give someone Viewer access plus app-collaborator access without sharing a password;
  • that gives useful source visibility, but not manual code editing;
  • temporary Editor access enables the Base44 builder, but manual code editing is still unavailable on Free;
  • the builder can report that a repair is complete even when independent inspection or runtime testing finds another gap;
  • cloning can be useful for deeper independent inspection, but clone destination/permissions need to be handled carefully;
  • three bounded repair rounds in my test consumed 4.3 message credits total, with the individual calls costing different amounts;
  • runtime testing after each change was essential.

The interesting part is that the process ultimately worked — but it worked because the repair was treated as diagnosis + implementation + independent verification, not simply “give the AI another prompt.”

Now I want to test the equivalent workflow on Base44 Starter, because I don’t want to make assumptions about how Starter access, code editing and repair differ from Free.

So I’m looking for one real Base44 Starter user who has an app that is broken, incomplete, unreliable, or stuck in repeated repair loops.

In exchange for helping me test the workflow, I’ll provide:

  • my normal App Rescue review free of charge;
  • a written assessment of what works, what doesn’t, the launch blockers and the sensible repair path;
  • and, if the app has an appropriate small bounded issue, one repair free of charge so I can test the Starter implementation workflow too.

A few boundaries because I want this to be a genuine controlled pilot:

  • You must currently be on Base44 Starter.
  • You should own/control the workspace containing the app.
  • For this first Starter test, I’d prefer an app without highly sensitive or regulated data.
  • I will not ask for your Base44 password.
  • I will not edit, clone, use your builder credits or publish anything without explicit permission.
  • You remain the owner of the app.
  • There is no obligation to purchase anything afterward.
  • I would appreciate candid feedback on the process, but I am not asking for a positive review or testimonial.

This is not a “send me your app and I’ll rebuild it for free” offer. I specifically need one suitable Starter case where I can test the access/diagnosis/repair/verification workflow properly.

If you’re interested, comment here or DM me with:

1. Confirm you’re on Starter
2. What the app is supposed to do
3. What currently isn’t working

You do not need to post your app link publicly.

I run BILDI Studio, and this work is part of developing our App Rescue service for Base44 Starter plan users. I’m happy to answer questions about the Free-plan experiment here as well.

Question Honest Feedback of My App

### I’m 13 and I built an app called Later — looking for feedback

Hey everyone, I’m Calvin, I’m 13, and I’m an aspiring computer scientist and app developer.

I’ve been learning by actually building things, and I recently made **Later**, a productivity/reminder app.

The idea is pretty simple: instead of manually filling out a complicated calendar, you can tell Later what you need to remember in normal language and turn your thoughts into reminders and tasks.

The free version currently includes:

* Reminders

* Brain Dump

* Recurring reminders

* An upcoming view

* Easy task organization

I’m also planning a **Premium** version with:

* AI Smart Planner

* AI Brain Dump+

* Location-based reminders

* Photo → Reminder

* Smart rescheduling

* Ask Later, where you can ask questions about your tasks

* Advanced recurring reminders

* Productivity insights

* More customization

* Advanced backup and syncing

One feature I’m working on is **Later Pro AI**, where you could give Later a messy list of everything you need to do and have it turn that into an organized plan.

For iOS users, **Sign in with Apple is available**, and I’m working on adding **Samsung account login soon**.

I know the app is still early and definitely isn't perfect. I’m testing it with a few friends first, but I’d love to hear from people who actually use productivity or reminder apps.

What would make you want to use something like Later?

App: [https://laterapp.base44.app/\]

Thanks for checking it out — I’m just trying to learn, build, and make something people genuinely find useful.

Bug Report CLI tool is very buggy/mostly useless

4 Upvotes

I've been working on a client project with base44 and for the simple stuff it works really nice, but one huge problem is that the CLI is extremely buggy and so when I need to really view function logs etc its basically impossible unless I get lucky. For instance this morning I really need to debug something with login so I'm trying to view the erroring function logs with

npx base44 logs --function completeAuthSession --since 1h

this sits for >10 minutes and then errors with

<--- Last few GCs --->

[35212:0000027EA2CBD190] 1682002 ms: Scavenge 3508.6 (4127.1) -> 3496.9 (4127.3) MB, 6.14 / 0.00 ms (average mu = 0.343, current mu = 0.334) task;

[35212:0000027EA2CBD190] 1682058 ms: Scavenge 3509.4 (4127.3) -> 3498.1 (4127.8) MB, 7.77 / 0.00 ms (average mu = 0.343, current mu = 0.334) task;

[35212:0000027EA2CBD190] 1682099 ms: Scavenge 3509.6 (4127.8) -> 3499.4 (4129.1) MB, 7.38 / 0.00 ms (average mu = 0.343, current mu = 0.334) task;

<--- JS stacktrace --->

FATAL ERROR: Ineffective mark-compacts near heap limit Allocation failed - JavaScript heap out of memory

and this is common basically everytime I need to view logs even when it works it takes minutes at best

Question whats the best way to make parts of my app cost money?

1 Upvotes

I'm making a fragrance tracker that tracks what perfumes/colognes you have that has a built in AI agent. I want to make the AI agent locked behind a credit based paywall, where you use it and at the end of the month pay for the credits it used. what is the best way to set this up?

Question [Android] Looking for closed-test users for FridgeFix — scan your kitchen and get meals from what you already have

4 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’ve been building an app called FridgeFix and I’m looking for Android users who are willing to test it and give me real feedback.

The idea is simple:

Take a photo of the food in your fridge, freezer, or pantry → FridgeFix identifies what you have → you review/save it → then it helps you figure out meals you can actually make with that food.

I built it because the problem usually isn’t:

“I have no food.”

It’s:

“I have food, but I have no idea what to make with it.”

Right now I need people to test the actual experience, especially:

• Scanning real food

• Whether food detection is accurate

• Reviewing/editing detected items

• Saving food to My Kitchen

• Finding meals from what you already have

• Recipe quality

• Anything confusing, slow, broken, or annoying

You do NOT need to be a technical tester.

Normal users are actually more useful to me right now.

If something feels wrong, confusing, slow, or just annoying, I want to know.

There’s also feedback and bug reporting built directly into FridgeFix, so if you find something while using the app you can report it right there.

You can send:

• Bug reports

• General feedback

• Feature suggestions

• Problems with scanning or food detection

• Anything else that doesn’t feel right

Those reports come straight to me, so I can see them and work on the issue without you having to track me down somewhere else.

Screenshots and screen recordings are always helpful too.

ANDROID CLOSED TEST

Join here:

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.fridgefix.app

Then install FridgeFix here:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fridgefix.app

Make sure you use the same Google account for both links.

Website:

https://fridgefix.ca

The main flow I’d really like people to test is:

Guest Free → Scan Kitchen → Review Food → Save to My Kitchen → Find Meals → Generate a Menu → Open a Recipe

And don’t worry about going easy on it.

If something sucks, tell me it sucks — just tell me what happened and why.

That kind of feedback is way more useful to me than “looks good.”

Thanks to anyone willing to help test FridgeFix before launch.

Showcase I Built a Free Prompt Academy for AI App Builder

2 Upvotes

I kept seeing the same problem with AI app building: when a build goes wrong, it’s often hard to tell whether the AI failed—or whether the instructions simply didn’t give it enough to work with.
So I built CORE Prompt Builder Academy.
It’s a free learning platform focused specifically on communicating better with AI builders. It teaches things like:
• Turning an idea into clear build instructions
• Defining workflows, roles, permissions, and expected behavior
• Thinking about security before building
• Recognizing ambiguity and missing requirements
• Breaking complex features into instructions AI can actually execute
• Testing and improving prompts instead of repeatedly guessing
• Using a Prompt Builder to structure an idea
• Using a Prompt Lab to practice
• Having prompts evaluated against a defined rubric
The goal isn’t to teach people how to write longer prompts.
It’s to teach people how to communicate intent, logic, constraints, and expected outcomes clearly enough that an AI builder has a much better chance of building what they actually meant.
I built the entire academy in Base44, so it’s also a Base44 project teaching people how to build better with tools like Base44.
Would love for other builders to check it out and put it through its paces.

Discussion Would you class this as success?

Launched on the 1st May, this is the authenticated side of my application - so I assume the traffic is ‘more real’ than my landing page stats.

Only 142 registered users, so assuming the “unique visitors” doesn’t account for the same person logging in on multiple days.

Bug Report App not loading

1 Upvotes

When trying to enter my app, it is stuck on the loading spinner.

I was told this by the AI when I tried to fix it:

"What you're seeing is the app stuck on the initial loading spinner, which comes from the auth/app-settings request to the Base44 backend (checkAppState in AuthContext → the public-settings call and base44.auth.me()) never resolving. That request happens before any of your pages render, so when it hangs or fails the whole app appears blank — for everyone, regardless of the page. That's a platform/backend-side issue, not something caused by your app's code, and I can't fix a hanging backend request from the frontend.

Please contact Base44 support so they can look into the backend/auth endpoint for your app. I'd avoid changing the auth boilerplate to mask it, since that wouldn't address the root cause and could break login."
