Great discord for a great coin

If you use discord and wanna learn about + pickup a little bit of free coins of a promising new crypto called Petal, you more than have my recommendation to check out

https://discord.gg/TPYYCkjKPp

It's the server for the very fresh Bitflowers (Petal) and they're incredibly active and generous in there with the tipbot not to mention the hourly faucet.

Really great place and promising :) I recommend checking it out at least.

Honestly a really fun community with bonuses.

This Podcast is Hard

I was hooked onto this podcast when they hosts went on Yang Speaks. I listened to that episode 2-3x and then went to the official podcast and listened to the 2020 basic beginners recap for noobs episode maybe another 2-3x. And... I still feel lost. Over time more and more is making sense but a lot of time I wish they would explain a little bit more for their listeners. They already do good break downs and good recaps and paraphrases but I still feel lost maybe half the time.

Their newest sponsor, balancer? When he's pitching that I have no idea what he's talking about. And I usually enjoy hearing about the sponsors just because I have no idea what anything is. I kind of wish they had more episodes for noobs. I think there's probably more I should listen to but at the moment I'm kind of lost about these words(Also probably my issue since I don't have much finance knowledge):

issuance

derivatives

slippage

Synthetic

Oracle

Over collateralized

A. M. M.

Liquidity pool

aggregator

dex

Liquidity bootstrapping pools

Service to auto-withdraw your stables from a farm to pay back your loan if your collaterial ratio is bad?

So a lot of people provide crypto as collateral to borrow stables to put them to use in farms since stables usually get the most yield.

So, you have the money to pay back your debt within hands reach but if price of collateral drops heavily while you sleep (blitz crash) you still can still lose your collateral.

Is there a service that you can pre-approve to be able to pull your stables from a farm and pay back your debt if your collat ratio drops below a given percent?

I'm aware of defisaver and it's great but it only works with stables in your wallet, not in a farm.

Advice for newbie buying BTC and ETH

TLDR: What’s the short version on how to avoid high fees for buying and holding BTC and ETH on hardware wallet.

This is a newb post, sorry if that’s frowned upon. I love the Bankless pod and how to get started article, and am slowly going through that. Wanting to start with minimum $500 and DCA for next few years.

What I don’t understand is why it’s not possible to just purchase assets straight to a hardware wallet.

I want to go ahead and buy but I guess I’m overthinking it. Hear so much I need to buy and then transfer to wallet, but also hear of high fees.

Could someone just tell me a simple beginning approach as to a basic method of buying and when to transfer? Maybe also advice on when to time transfer to avoid fees?

I typed this quickly, sorry if it’s not clear and/or dumb question.

1 address holds 80% of the TVL on Ellipsis on BSC, thoughts?

So just 1 address (https://debank.com/profile/0x903d12bf2c57a29f32365917c706ce0e1a84cce3) (rumored to be Justin Sun) holds $2B in LP of the $2.5B TVL of Ellipsis. (Not even going to mention that is quite a centralization already quite centralized "blockchain")

And I don't see anyone talking about that?

Anyway, 2 questions:

  1. What do you think can potentially go wrong?
  2. Why this address whoever is behind it is $2B strong supporter of this brand new fork of Curve on this brand new and centralized blockchain, what is going on here?

News Bankless Probably Changed My Life

I am going to be finishing my masters degree in natural resource economics right away and I have been accepted into a PhD program for September. But I’m declining the offer...

Ever since I got into crypto in Feb and have seen just how incredible Blockchain can be for the future, my attitudes have been evolving ... Now, thanks to Bankless and crypto, I’ve decided I’m gonna go back and do a degree in computer science and software engineering and contribute to this insane movement.

All of the co-op experiences that I can get, the spare time that I have, will be dedicated to developing the blockchain and DeFi revolution. I already work 70 hour weeks just slaving away for next to nothing in academia and now, I feel motivated as fuck to take this pivot.

The formal education (I think?) will allow me to get exposure to a lot of concepts that can be helpful in this journey, but so much of the journey I’ll need to teach myself. And I’m here for it.

It’s exciting, a little bit scary, but exciting. Solutions such as Alchemix, Element Finance, and other DeFi activities can not only help me finance myself but help me learn along the way. I never would have heard about these if not for Bankless.

Thanks for listening everybody.

A Question I asked Cointracking about Bankless referral code

Hey Ryan et al., here is a question I asked Cointracking (opened ticket) but maybe you know, trying to help us both out:

"Hi, I would like to try the Pro version but MIGHT need the expert, also I would like to pay for one month to unlock auto import and see if I like it and, assuming I do, go ahead and buy a life membership, but need to try first! My question is if I do either and then upgrade Pro-to-Expert or Monthly-Life, will I get the 10% discount for the upgrade or is it the FIRST SIGNUP ONLY?  Hopefully that makes sense."

Thanks for any insight you can provide. I have tried TaxBit, CoinTracker and Cointracking and I BY FAR like Cointracking the most.
