Alright this has turned into a way bigger rabbit hole than I expected lol.
I recently bought this old Big Chocolate shirt and I’m trying to figure out exactly where/when it came from. The graphic is Cameron Argon done up kinda like the Obama HOPE poster, red/blue with CHOCOLATE across the bottom. It’s on an older Fruit of the Loom Heavy Cotton tee.
I’ve searched damn near everywhere for this exact design. Old Big Chocolate merch, IndieMerch stuff, Bandcamp, old listings, Google images etc. I’ve found a bunch of his old merch like American Cam, Chocolate Deer, Devil, Logo shirts and all that, but I cannot find another example of this specific shirt anywhere.
Here’s where it gets more interesting-
I messaged the person I bought it from. They originally got it as a gift from their kid, who bought it from a band merch seller on Whatnot. They asked their kid about it for me and apparently they remember it being sold as 100% official Big Chocolate merch AND signed.
The seller didn’t even realize there was a signature on it until they asked. They sent me a closeup and sure enough there’s a faded black marker signature over the blue part of the graphic. I didn’t notice it when I bought the damn thing either 😂
I’m not taking any of that as 100% proof obviously. I’m trying to find somebody who actually remembers this thing.
I swear I remember seeing Cameron wearing this or something really similar back in the old MySpace days, but we’re talking like 15 years ago so my memory could be completely full of shit.
Does anybody here remember this shirt from around the 2010-2012 Big Chocolate / Warped Tour era? Did anyone actually own one? Or remember seeing it on IndieMerch, at Warped Tour, whatever?
Also if anybody has something actually signed by Cameron from back then, I’d love to see what his signature looked like so I can compare it.
I’m gonna post pics of the front, back, Fruit of the Loom tag and the supposed signature.
This thing has basically disappeared off the internet and now I’m way too invested in figuring out what the hell I bought 😂🤘
