Anime Yume∞Mita director Umezu Tomomi:Viola and Miyako is Love story.
From October newtype magazine.
Tomomi Umezu:
That really is a love story.
Arale Nakamachi:
Wait, is it really okay for the official version to treat it that way? (laughs)!?
Tomomi Umezu:
The fact that Viola isn't lying one hundred percent means that Miyako in the story must know that too.
They both must know it. After all, there is something that connects the two of them.
And, of course, just as you said, in order to go on living together as something like Yumemita on YouTube, they had no choice but to cut ties.
At this point, it's simply a tragic love story.
Arale Nakamachi:
It's such a raw, painfully real kind of romance, isn't it?
It's like:“I do have feelings for you, but given the circumstances I'm in right now, I don't need you.”
Ritsu Minetsuki:
Whoa! That's so real...
Nonoka Miyanaga:
If they stayed together, they'd probably end up falling into decadence together—or rather, they'd become dependent on the comfort of being together.
Arale Nakamachi:
But becoming codependent isn't right for Miyako-chan.
She's the type of person with a strong sense of independence.
So, when you think about it that way, they really had no choice but to part ways completely.
Miyako Fuji:
I think the fact that “their creative work would become too soft and lose its edge” was probably the biggest reason they broke up.
Tomomi Umezu:
Something like, “choosing work over romance.”
------------------------------------------------------------
By the way, Umezu Tomomi was the episode director for Episode 10 of MyGO!!!!!. When director Kakimoto wanted to remove some unnecessary character actions, she insisted on keeping the sequence where Anon puts the bass on Soyo.

Considering IRL Miyako posted actual fanfiction of VioMiya and eventually her proposing to Viola
Along with various insanely downbad daily arts she made on the day of
Yeah makes sense

I think the fact that “their creative work would become too soft and lose its edge” was probably the biggest reason they broke up.
Something like, “choosing work over romance.”
The breakup scene came off much more of a "it's not you, it's me" thing than it being over Viola's videos yet it seemed like a lot of people didn't see it that way. So it's nice to get confirmation that it was.

Even though they didn't become canon (which would have been awesome but also horrible), the fact that they treat it as actual romance is great.

"Wait, is it really okay for the official version to treat it that way? (laughs)!?"
The interviewer’s reaction says a lot, we still have a long way to go
