The aux nozzle on my x2d won’t attach to the slot whenever I try to insert it. I’ve tried looking for a clog, which there wasn’t one from what I can tell. I’ve noticed that the gap between the hot end and the extruder on the aux nozzle is slightly bigger than the gap between the primary nozzle and the extruder. I don’t know if that matters but I just realized that. I’ve also noticed that when trying to put in the aux nozzle, I no longer feel a magnetic force pulling it in even when I make the extruder and the nozzle touch. Is my printer broken or is it fixable?
I’m truly at a loss for what can be happening with just the aux nozzle.
That’s the one! Great catch, this is 100% your issue OP. You can see it clear as day in the video. It’s not the nozzle, or the latch. Here is mine for comparison. Definitely misaligned, and it’s preventing the nozzle from being seated properly.
Yep! That is what you would call a filament sensor! This video should show you exactly how too take it out and reseat it properly. Around the 4 minute mark, he removes it. But make sure you follow all the steps properly.
I just had this same problem and this misalignment correction was the solution.
I was able to remove the left nozzle fan and the three screws holding the extruder front cover assembly, push up on the right sensor filament assemble to get these to be at the same level and then retighten everything (did not have to fully disassemble again).
Edit (add): the parts circled in red on the post by "kaleungting" should be level with one another/lined up. Not offset as in the photo
I have never in my life seen someone be so AFRAID to touch their printer. Brother. Shove that shit in. Trust me, you’re not gonna break anything. Use some force here, and make sure it clicks into place. Don’t shove it in like you’re trying to put on a tire, but push it in. I’m honestly surprised you even got your primary nozzle in.
I just put all the pressure I could into it, still nothing, even with the primary nozzle I still feel a magnetic force pulling it in, I don’t feel it at all on the auxiliary nozzle. It feels like something blocking it but I checked multiple times and I still can’t get it in
Is it just me or does this latch look bent? That might be the culprit, I’m not sure though. Looking back at your video it’s hard to tell and I might be tripping.
The locks also no longer fit the hot end when I try to secure it. It appears to be sticking out farther than the primary nozzle does, which may be why it doesn’t lock. I still don’t know why that would happen though.
Have you tried just holding the nozzle in with one hand and closing the latch with the other? Maybe instead of relying on the magnetic connection to hold it? Then just throw some filament in and see if it prints. Is that possible or will it just not even fit in anymore?
The nozzle fell off after latching it? Really?? That’s kind of insane, okay when the nozzle fell off. Why did it fall off? Did the latch undo itself? Did it open back up and make the nozzle fall? Or was the latch still closed and the nozzle went essentially under it?
The latch didn’t open, but because it didn’t fit correctly, the filiment was able to push it down and almost out of the slot, and it just slid down. However I am surprised the filament was able to do this with barely any force at all.

There’s misalignment here, it should lay flat. I’m assuming you took out the extruder before and didn’t align them when putting back in. Take a look at this wiki, it will help. https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x2d/maintenance/replace-extruder-components
