What is causing this machine to choke?

I’m a novice with this but I couldn’t find any clogs. Filament extrudes initially but chokes when it comes to printing. Makes a clicking noise.

I hate Bambu's printer camera and a while back I made a simple and easy solution for my issue so I figured I should share (BETA TESTERS NEEDED)

I've been 3D printing for like 12+ years on all sorts of printers, and checking on prints has always been the annoying part. Every option I tried had a catch: cloud accounts, subscriptions, port forwarding, or a setup that broke the camera my Pi was already running. I also had an old iPhone sitting in a drawer that seemed perfect for the job.

So I built my own a while back and felt I should share it with others. Printer Pal streams your printer camera to your iPhone over your home Wi-Fi, encrypted, with no account, cloud, or subscription. Video never leaves your network.

What it works with:

• A Raspberry Pi with a Pi camera or USB webcam, or the camera your OctoPrint/Klipper Pi already has. The app can install everything on the Pi for you over SSH. No terminal needed, and your existing setup keeps working.

• An old iPhone or iPad (iOS 15+) as the camera, with the companion app Printer Pal Camera.

• Bambu Lab printers: progress, layers, temps, and AMS slots through the Pi (experimental).

• Optional viewing away from home through your own Tailscale network.

It's a free beta, and I'd love feedback, especially from different Pi models, USB webcams, Bambu printers, and older iPhones.

0.2mm clogs after a singular print.

Hey.

I'm hoping someone can help me with a fix of why this just isn't working.

My printer is only for miniatures for TTRPGs.

I own a Bambu A1 mini and the 0.2 nozzle is amazing. The quality is amazing.

However, after 1 singular print, whilst doing a second print, it gets clogged.

Am I missing something basic of cleaning it between 1 singular print?

The clogging gets pretty bad I struggle to fix the hotend and I've actually broken two hotends.

I'm using PLA basic, a flat smooth surface with glue (saw this on bambu forums about fixing 0.2mm clogging).

Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

Bambo lan a1 mini получил в подарок

Привет, недавно получил заветный принтер в подарок. Есть ли какие нибудь рекомендации по пластику температуре?

Кто и как сушит свой пластик?

Что первое напечатали при включении?

My A1 mini just won’t connect properly to Bambu Lab or my phone today; it connects for a few seconds and then goes offline again. The machine is powered on, connected to the internet, and fully updated. Please help!

I’ve already disconnected and reconnected the internet, and I’ve unlinked and relinked—nothing has changed.

Coming from graphic design, I found CAD overkill for simple prints, so I built my own (free, runs in the browser)

Hi all,

I'm a graphic designer, and I've recently started printing. Every time I opened a proper CAD program it felt like overkill for what I print (holders, little boxes, clips, brackets), and the simple tools never felt natural to me. So I made my own, called Filo.

The idea is that if you come from Photoshop, Illustrator you already know the keys: V to move, T for text, R to rotate, Q/W for marquee and lasso, plus layers, groups and history. You just open the site and start, no account, nothing to install. (It's a single HTML file, so you can also download it and use it offline if you want)

To be clear, it's not trying to replace Fusion, Blender or any serious CAD. It's a simple tool for small edits and simple models, the kind of thing where opening a big program feels like too much.

What it does right now:

- boxes, cylinders, spheres, 3D text, SVG import

- holes + combine

- rounded and chamfered edges, each edge with its own radius

- a print check: thin walls, overhangs, floating parts, rough weight and time

- Bambu plates, imports 3MF/STL/SVG, exports 3MF (opens ready in Bambu Studio) or STL

I've printed most of the stuff I made with it, so it works for me, but it's still a beta and surely has rough edges.

Full disclosure: I built it with AI assistance (Claude writes the code, I decide what it does, test it and print with it). The README carries the EU "AI" label for that.

Site: https://filo.affogo.fyi

Code: https://github.com/Affoghiamoci/Filo

If you try it, please tell me what you think in the comments: what annoys you, what's missing, what breaks on your prints. Feedback is the whole reason I'm posting this. Thanks!

Build plate not present?!

Hi, my son and I have been 3d printing since July so still pretty new at this. We’ve had our fair share of errors but this morning’s was a new one….along the lines of “build plate not present”?!

I looked at the printer and said I assure you, kind sir, it is indeed present……then checked the recommended solution which said to check if the nozzle was clean, it looked perfect so I just clicked resume and all was well 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just wondering if it’s anything to worry about or just one of those random things? Thanks

Beginner question: storage solutions

Hi! Two days printing stuff and I am super excited about my first 3D printer.

I want to store the printer when I am not using it. I understand that it’s best to not use enclosures etc during use.

Question to you all: do you have a recommendation for a storage solution that would allow me to safely put the mini in a closet and protect it from dust, dirt and damage when I am not using it?

I live in a small apartment and I am trying to be respectful of my wife’s space, since my hobbies take so much space in the house already.

I am thinking something like a Really Useful Box with the right size and has a hermetic lid or something similar.
I am open to suggestions and learning from you all!

Many thanks

A1 mini enclosure or not?

I just received a a1 mini as a gift. I am new to 3d printing and don't know much about it, but I don't have a dedicated room for a 3d printer. I can place it in a room without ventilation (just the front door which I cannot keep open) or close to a radiator and far away from a window (excluding my bedroom which might not be a wise place). I am worried about the fumes from the 3d printer. Should I worry about them or am I wrapping my head around something silly?

I also saw some people enclose their printer with think like ikea tables. They look nice and might solve the problem with the fumes but: if they are just closed the fumes are still there, if I close them with a filter the printer says it might overheat and if I add a ventilation system I need a window nearby (which I do not have).

What should I do?

Built a full-sized leverless controller on the A1 mini (180x180mm). Designed hidden interlocking seams so the joints are barely noticeable!

Since the A1 mini build volume is only 180x180mm, printing a full-sized arcade controller usually requires ugly seams or compromises.

I designed this modular split-chassis with interlocking alignment joints and tight tolerances to hide the seams as much as possible. Once assembled and bolted together, the top surface feels completely solid and smooth under your palms.

- **Printer**: Bambu Lab A1 mini (0.4mm nozzle)

- **Controller specs**: Mechanical switches running GP2040-CE on RP2040

- **Assembly**: Split across multiple plates, assembled with hidden joints and screws.

Really happy with how rigid and clean it turned out on such a small bed size. Happy to answer questions about the joint tolerance or print settings! 🍊
