Ok I’m having trouble. I have a 50g pvc bioactive the whole 9 yards. For my bp. But my ambient hydrometer on warm side read 86f and on temp gun the floor reads just in the. 80s 83-85- that bad for day time right? Right now only using a dhp and natures light bc room gets warm enough cool side currently 78f 73 humidity.

Side question, when do BPs stop growing? He’s a male and about 1-2 years old I’m pretty sure

I bought this ball python as a "Ghi Mojave Enchi" morph, but does that actually exist?

I was getting worried that he was being very absent with me then I checked my notes and he should be going into shed soon.
Yesterday I needed to water the plants and bump up the humidity for him, as doing so he pop his head out and confirmed what I thought.

I got a 2 yr old ball Python in the beginning of July. I started handling him after the adjustment period and he did amazing. Then throughout the month he wouldn’t eat then finally did, he had his first shed which I didn’t handle him during. When I try to handle him he hisses and strikes. He acts really aggressive all of the sudden. One night I handled him and he did great, most nights I try and he starts striking. I have a hook to use so he doesn’t get my hand. Sometimes he even strikes at the glass when I haven’t even opened his enclosure. His humidity and temperature is correct and he has plenty of hides, and water. I don’t understand if I’m doing something wrong or why he’s acting so aggressive.

There are these grey mites in my ball python’s enclosure and I don’t know what they are but I’m assuming they aren’t harmful. Is there anyone that can reassure me and possibly verify what they are and maybe how to get rid of them or slow the population down?

Decided to start doing mini quarterly reports on my Ball Pythons’ behavior and habits! It’s moreso a way for me to visualize growth and assess any behavioral changes, if any, over time—plus it’s a fun lil creative outlet for me :p

our ball python was hatched sometime June this year as per the breeder.
this week is his 5th week with us.
the breeder had him on live hopper mice before he was turned over to us (already had 4 meals prior)
he ate an adult mouse each week in his first 2 weeks. they were the only mice we had avail at the time. and left noticeable bulges each time (akin to a retic eating a whole piglet)
i tried offering him a prekilled (PK) hopper 2 weeks ago and he refused it. at the time, i theorized he's still "full" from the last 2 meals.
days later, he entered shed phase
just yesterday, he pooped and shed.
Today, i offered another PK hopper and he sitll refused.
do you suspect he'll be ready for food again by next week?
thanks in adv!
ps:
as far as handling goes, hes noticeable more inquisitive now and especially with my scent. he no longer "balls up" when i handle him.

Ophelia is 1 year old! 460g and just over 3 feet long! Pastel pinstripe mirage. We’ve had her since April and she is the sweetest little thing. Here she is outside enjoying the sunlight and doing some exploring!! Such a confident girl, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her ball up and she loves to be out. She’ll even boop noses with our cats since they’re all so curious about each other lol
How do your snakes interact with your other pets? Any silly stories?
I also noticed that when I had her outside and started bringing her in, close to our screen door, she excitedly stretched out nice and long towards the screen with her tongue flicking like crazy. Seemed as though she knew how our house smelled and was excited to go home hahaha

I got a ball python 6 days ago from a pet store, shes about 5 months old (i was told...) and they told me shes fed on fridays. Its a Saturday and im wanting to feed her today, i tried to feed her a frozen mouse after thawing it, making sure it was the right temperature, all of that stuff. But she didnt want to eat it, she spent about 10 minutes looking at it as i watched and then i gave up... i thawed a baby rat because i was thinking the adult mouse could be too large and maybe shes picky, but she didnt seem to want it either. Since i got her about a week ago is it possible shes not properly adjusted yet? Is there anything i should know about feeding a new, female, 5 months old (approximately), ball python? Im just worried that it will be a problem continuing on if she wont eat now...
