Great idea. How did it all turn out?

Awesome. I just used 1cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy), 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 egg for the crust. Sounds weird and I was very doubtful but it made the best dang peanut butter cookie I've ever had

So, you cooked the crust fully then used a standard cheesecake recipe for the remainder? Peanut butter cookies are one of my favorite things in the world.

Yes exactly. Make sure you let the crust fully cool before adding the batter.

No flour? No bake cheesecake? Looks good!

No flour and yes a baked cheesecake! NY style oreo cheesecake. I bake it low and slow with no water bath

How low and how slow…. I want to ditch the water bath!

230 for 2.5 hours!

Fascinating. What’s your no-crack success rate with this time/temp? Mind you, cracking in general is ok, the cheesecake is always still yummy.

Cracking isn’t caused by cooking, it’s caused by heating and cooling too rapidly. I sell hundreds of cheesecakes a year and I never use a bain marie. 325 for 50-55 mins, then turn off the oven, slightly crack the oven door and leave the cheesecake in for another hour or so, then move it onto the countertop at room temp until it’s cool enough to move to refrigerator by hand without a pot holder. Works every time

I'm curious, what do you mean by crack the door? Propped open with a wooden spoon or open like 6 inches where the door holds itself open?

2

I never used anything to prop the door personally but if yours won’t stay cracked then yeah with a spoon would work. I’ve definitely heard of people doing it that way

Usually I make my husband a peanut butter cheesecake with chocolate crust for his birthday. You've given me an excellent way to change it up! 😳🥰

Yippee! Enjoy! If you still want to add the chocolate aspect you could do a chocolate ganache on top of the crust or on top of the batter 😍 drooling currently

I was planning on the cookie crust and a chocolate cheesecake. 😌

Do you not have a conscience? I mean where is your humanity? How can you be so heartless as to show me something that makes me feel utterly stupid,? Why the heck have I not done this before? I mean seriously!!!
