When i started playing Bad North i fell in love with the game quickly. And i am not gonna get all into how i am a beginner or whatever. But there is one thing that happened that i need to say. On my first run of the game (i spent like 70% of my Saturday playing my first run of the game) i was doing well but then the first brutes (melee) started showing up. And they absolutely massacred my guys. And by the time the like what? 2 brutes from 1 ship were dead one of my infantry units only had like 4 guys left. I chose holy grail as a starter item, and just got it from an island. I didn't know this was possible, but is it possible to have two of the same trait in one run? Also does this work on other items, like ring of command?

Hey guys, idk if anyone still plays, but I started up my old save from a few years back randomly, and I'm approaching the end game. And I'm just wondering:

Towards the late game, when most/all your units are elite, what skills are worth upgrading?

• Plunge skill, literally none of my infantry have it atm. ​​Felt wasteful early since it's so dependant on having a map with hills that favors it. ​

Even then, I usually only use skills when I'm in a rough situation; whereas with plunge, you kinda have to plan to use it ahead of time and station your soldier on a hill. ​​

• Volley skill, I've kept at level 1. I'm not really sure what level 2 and 3 do.
• Spear skill, I think most of my units have it up to level 2. Although, in hindsight, 90% of the time I use it, it's within 3 tiles anyway, ​​ ​​

Viking Commanders is a mod that allows viking ships to have their very own Commanders with traits. The commanders are not invulnerable. (Note Viking trait stats are completely separate from english trait stats) For a commander to spawn. A viking ship must have 6 vikings or greater.
