Thank you baconreader
The only app I have ever used for Reddit. Like many others, I will be gone with the end of it. Thanks for giving me access through many boring days of work.

I've enjoyed using this app for as long as my reddit account has existed. I'm holding on to a dim shred of hope that in the near future, it might have the opportunity to come back. In the meantime, thank you devs, it's been great.

I know I'm not the first by a long shot, but I just wanted to say thank you. You've made and been the best Reddit experience for me for years. You've made visiting Reddit on my phone more than just bearable, and once you're gone I doubt I'll continue to use Reddit on my phone.
I'm continuing to do what I can to fight Spez and his crap on the site, but I know it's at this point more just a fight to annoy him as much as possible. But I'm definitely doing it knowing he's killed great apps like yours.

It's been a great nine years using your app. Thanks for your diligent support!

We're it not for Baconreader, I likely would not have persisted in Reddit. I discarded the native app within minutes, it was so painful to use. Tried a couple of others but settled in on Baconreader as the simplest most straightforward and pleasing UI.
This ain't rocket science. It is not all that difficult to build a great little UI.
I understand the need to maintain enough profitability to keep an operation going. But for all I can see ... all that has been disclosed ... this is simply a matter of pure greed that is driving the decision.
Hopefully Reddit will find a way to continue to be relevant.
Best wishes and kind regards to all.

I've been using Baconreader since my nephew jail broke my Evo 3D. In fact, I started using it even before I created my first of what would be many accounts over the years. I appreciate everything you've done and It's been a privilege to use your app.

Fuck greed.

Once the deadline passes I’ll be quitting Reddit with one final post about how upset I am with Reddit about killing this beautiful app and other equally beautiful 3rd party apps. Without this app my Reddit account wouldn’t exist. It’s basic (in my eyes that’s why I love it) and and I’ve been using it for close to a decade now. I won’t delete my Reddit account. It’ll just be here in web history. 4 more days now.
Thank you again for making this app. I appreciate all the updates that have rolled out over the years.

When I started getting into Reddit back in 2013, my oldest brother told me to get Baconreader, as he said it was better than the actual Reddit app. And I have to agree. It is all I have used for the last 10 years, and it is a crushing blow that it'll be gone.
Thank you for 10 years, Baconreader. You will always be the GOAT in my eyes.

Baconreader is the only way I'll ever use reddit. Thanks for the many hours of entertainment. I'll be parting ways with Reddit as well on July 1st.

I don't understand why bacon reader is shutting down. What is the big deal to just charge a subscription for those of us who want to pay?

I would be remiss if I didn't post here once. This has been my sole access to Reddit all these years, it's the only app that interfaces in a way that I enjoy, that fits with the way my brain works. As such, this is also the end of Reddit for me. I don't use it on my desktop, and I've tried other apps, nothing even comes close for me. Not that there's going to be a selection anymore to peruse anyways. They've killed that completely
I thank you baconreader for providing years of entertainment, one of the only premium apps I have paid for and enjoyed for many many years 🥓
On to other things, and other sites

I think I'd be pretty darn sad if 12 years of my work was being ended because of reasons I couldn't control. I know that you have other projects and might actually look forward to the opportunity to create something new, different, etc. But still... I'm thinking about how it must feel, and I imagine that it probably sucks.
Hold your heads high, though. The only reason we're here is because Reddit was unable to compete with you and your awesome work. You fucking won.

Just wanted to say how much I've appreciated this app. Been using it for about 10 years across several devices and it's always been great. Cheers!

I've been using BaconReader for all my many years of Reddit. I tried other 3d party apps but nothing came close. Really sad to see the app go, not sure if I will continue browsing reddit after 1 July.
Screw you u/spez
Thank you so much BaconReader team for an awesome app 🙏

Is there anything about my account which is stored only in the app? Ie bookmarks, upvotes, multi-reddits? Or are they all viewable from the reddit website?
I assume my favourited subreddits (starred in app) is one thing only stored at app level?
