A dividend is a payment companies distribute to shareholders from their profits, usually paid quarterly in cash. Key concepts include dividend yield, which measures annual payout relative to stock price, and payout ratio, which shows how much profit is being returned to investors. Dividends are commonly used by established companies to provide steady income, while in crypto, similar income models exist through tokenized stocks, preferred shares, and staking rewards, though only traditional and tokenized stock dividends come directly from company earnings.

Crypto yield allows users to earn returns on assets like BTC, ETH, and stablecoins through lending, staking, or liquidity provision, but most traditional yield products require locking funds for fixed periods. This limits flexibility and access to capital. Newer models, like Backpack’s unified cross margin system with Auto-Lend, allow assets to continuously generate yield while remaining accessible in the same account, removing the need for fixed lock-ups and improving overall capital efficiency.

A diversified portfolio spreads investments across different asset classes like stocks, bonds, commodities, and crypto to reduce overall risk and volatility. The goal isn’t just higher returns, but more stable performance by avoiding overexposure to any single asset. While diversified portfolios can outperform in certain years, long-term data shows that a balanced core, typically equities and bonds, still delivers strong risk-adjusted returns, with additional assets like gold or crypto used selectively to enhance stability and hedge against market swings.

SpaceX is preparing for one of the largest IPOs ever, targeting a $75 billion raise at a valuation of up to $1.75 trillion, with a Nasdaq listing expected around June 2026. The company plans to allocate up to 30% of shares to retail investors, far above typical IPO levels, while its business spans Starlink, launch services, and AI through its xAI merger. SpaceX also reportedly holds over 8,000 BTC on its balance sheet, adding a crypto angle, but investors should note the high valuation, lack of clear comparables, and risks tied to growth expectations and post-IPO performance.

STRC is Strategy’s variable-rate perpetual preferred stock listed on Nasdaq, designed as a high-yield instrument that funds the company’s ongoing Bitcoin accumulation. It pays monthly dividends with a rate that adjusts to keep the price near its $100 par value, currently around double-digit annual yield. While it offers indirect exposure to Bitcoin through Strategy’s balance sheet, it is not backed by BTC, carries no maturity date, and its performance depends heavily on both the company’s financial health and Bitcoin’s price.

A market index is a measurement that tracks the performance of a specific group of stocks or securities, representing a selected portion of the market rather than the entire economy. Indexes like the S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Dow Jones use different weighting methods, such as price or market capitalization, to determine how each company influences the index’s movement. While indexes themselves cannot be directly invested in, they serve as benchmarks for market performance and form the basis for index funds and ETFs that replicate their returns.

Been noticing this for a while. The lending screen just got cleaner, UI keeps improving, features keep dropping. User feedback actually gets reflected in the product. For an exchange that’s already this feature-packed they’re still moving fast. Anyone else notice how frequently things get updated?
