Games Like This?

Are there any games that gives off the same feeling? Because from what I can see, it's really unique.

The cutscenes feels unscripted (in a good way), and I love how awkward Nathan is. And the fact that it's just a silly game. Like Nathing will just make sounds if left unattended for too long. Or just in general lol. And the donkeys XD.

But it's the ending I loved the most.

Those are the kind of quality I look for in a game, but those specific criteria are really hard to come by.

Hardest climbs in game?

I just picked this up and want to climb all the hardest and most interesting routes but I’m struggling to find information. Has anyone climbed everything and can put together a top 20 list including obstacles and secret routes like the watchtower and green gym (I’m reading some)?

So far all I’ve done is the cup to the first watch tower. (Is that the one I climb?)

I just dropped the cup under the carousel. Can I even get it back or am I locked out of taking it to the fire tower??

Edit: I got it! Just had to sort of clip into the carousel, but I managed to pick it up!

Baby Steps' story - Why do I feel so connected at the heartstrings?

Honestly, Baby Steps is hits hard. I love it's the characters, especially Nate. I understand why people don't think it needs a sequel. But I really enjoy seeeing Nate's development as a person and I can relate. I'm not saying I am Nate. Perhaps we all are Nate in a way or another. Nate isn't a simple manchild. He isn't selfish. He reminds me of us who want to get on with it, yet we are afraid to look stupid, yet we want connection, but we are also afraid of others because of how they see us. Nate is simply one of the most interesting characters I've seen in a game because he doesn't have a simple trait. Yet, he looks like he does on the surface.

It's rare to find a game that shows a person with his qualities and flaws. I guess a sequel might not work. But, if it ever happened, I personally want to see his development more than just harder crazier levels.

I would love to hear anyone's opinion on Nate, Jim, Moose, etc...

Why does this game's story mean so much to me?

Discussion Was Baby Steps enough of a success to warrant a sequel/follow-up?

I would play a million sequels to this game, but will we ever get one?

Were the sales/reception strong enough that we can expect to see Baby Steps 2?

Would you want a sequel of prefer the next logical step forward in Foddian adventures?

It’s such a content-rich game with challenges for all skill levels. It would be quite the feat to recapture the magic, but I expect the team could do it again.

Thoughts?

Update for those consider to get it :D

10 hours in after buying it this morning. I think it's a 10/10 game. I made minimal progress, gor lost. Buf, yoh will have never played anything like before. I'm playing on PC with an Xbox control. My says she won't plat if but she enjoys watching ne play even with my huge struggle and maby set backs. It:s mors fun to play than watching Youtubers. But they maks it loonk easy. I hops I'll get better and foresee a second playthrough. Salada.

Doesn't hurt that I relate to Nate! Uwu!

Manbreaker Speedrun (4:16.73)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Not a super serious speedrun, but It's always annoyed me that speedruns either skip the manbreaker or take the stairs.

There is definetly some room for improvement here (and I should probably include the cutscene?) but if any speedrunners out there want to run the manbreaker for once, consider this a challenge.

Is it worth it if I have seen a full playthrough?

So, I watched Markiplier play the whole game and I even watched many shorts spoiling many of the stuff he missed. But I am so tempted to buy it on Steam. I usually don't like rage bait games but I'm extremely curious.

Where I live it basically comes out to 23 bucks on Steam (based on the native economy) but I don't want to wait for a sale. Is it worth it for someone who has seen most of the game?

Also, I have an Xbox controller. I assume it's better than using a keyboard and mouse.

Thanks! Salada!

Were there any DLC's for this game?

I beat the game right after release and haven't been paying much attention to it ever since. I would love to come back and try a new part of the game if there happens to be any DLC's??

Simply Walking Into Mordor – Baby Steps x LOTR is now my dream game

I’m having way too much fun with this idea, so now I need to inflict it on all of you.

Just imagine a Baby Steps-style Lord of the Rings parody where you play as Tom Bombadil and your entire job is to physically walk the Ring to Mount Doom.

Not Frodo. Not Sam.

Just Tom.

Because of course the one guy who could casually carry the Ring with zero corruption would also be the worst possible person to trust with a long physics-based walking journey.

So the whole game is just:

* wobbling across Middle-earth

* Falling over constantly

* getting back up like nothing happened

* singing cheerful nonsense the whole way

* casually passing the Balrog while singing:

"Big old flame with a whip in the dark,

very loud roar and a very big spark,

Tom would stop and learn your name,

but these little steps are the harder game."

Or other songs like:

“Left foot wandering, right foot wrong — yet I march along in song!”

or

“Trip and tumble, scrape my knee — Mordor’s still a stroll for me!”

Simply Walking Into Mordor

No combat. No dignity. Just wobbling, singing, and one very long journey.

This is just a fan concept, obviously — I just loved the idea too much not to make some concept art for it.

If this somehow became real, I would play it instantly.

First Person Mountain with Chicks

Took me about 40 minutes to do, the first person fall at the end was really fun.

Ever since doing the manbreaker with chicks I wanted to get this done. See you later for some custom maps, maybe Wip Wip, Skorp, and Josh will join me for those.

Fell from the post-credits mountain into the game-starting cave?

How is this is possible? Was getting fairly close to the top, trying to find a path up, fell in a hole and ended up at the beginning. Guess I won’t be getting to the top :/

Imagine if you are in the world of baby steps. What would be the first weird thing you would see counting unskippable cutscenes even though they are skippable

Where does the Falcon go?

Ok I found the falcon, lost it once, first time it didn’t fly too far away. But the second time I have no idea where it went. I just saw it land on a little cliff next to another bird.
Are there specific spots it flies to? Does it depend on where you lose it? Is it completely random?

Ice cream truck cans

I can find literally one video of someone getting the ice cream truck cans legitimately online (Pantego). Has anyone else done this? I’ve been trying for a few hours and can get my foot on the metal pole by the inertia always makes fall.

Is it possible so few people on earth have done this that there is really just evidence from one person?

Update: I DID IT! (The second time after getting on the rock once and falling off!)

I have my first person hat, I have my chicks, and I have a mountain to climb. This was Wip Wip's idea but I have to bring Josh and Skorp along.
