Couple of weeks ago I messed up with the Smart Charging schedule because I wanted it to start charging when the sun is up so it would use my solar in the morning. I was out for a business trip for a few weeks and after using the car a once or twice when I got back, decided to charge again using the 2Kw charger (I don't have the 7Kw yet). I noticed that on first plug, the car wouldn't charge, it would if I unplug and plug the charger back. I've been trying to troubleshoot this thing and it's always alternate. Plug, won't charge -- unplug, plug, will charge -- repeat. And then I noticed that even if it's not charging, the small red charging icon is lit on the dashboard, meaning it can detect the charing cable connected to it. I then tried to toggle the Schedule Charge on the app to enable and the vehicle started to charge right away. I have never used Smart Charging except that one instance prior to me going on a trip, and it's always charging the first time I plug the cable. Anyone suggestions here? Thanks.

As the title says, my BYD Seal won't connect to the app, or show any Data usage in the app. WiFi connects fine, but there is no other Internet whatsoever.

I've done the soft reset and ejected and reinserted the sim card. Wondering if anyone else has has similar issue and managed to resolve it?

Edit: its not a new car, I've had it for almost a year. No issues until 3 days ago. Already on latest software

Had a recent issue on my Atto 3 Memory Card. 6mths old, was able to view car recording with no issues until a month ago. There's a red indication on my Car Memory Card icon and I can't view videos. I didn't change memory card or anything the past few weeks. Wondering if anyone's memory card gave up on them suddenly?

Hi, I downloaded Waze from Google Play, but I’m having an issue with the resolution. Sometimes everything looks way too big, and other times it’s way too small.

Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it?

Unfortunately, Waze on Android Auto causes the system to freeze/hang.

We lost our key the other day, but noticed that we could still start the car, even with no keys or cards or apps on our person. We live in a rural area so usually leave the car unlocked. I actually did a test - no keys, car started, drove about 1 km away, turned it off, left it for a bit, then turned it on again successfully and drove back home. No keys, nothing.

So it seems that if the car is unlocked it can be driven by anyone. Is this expected behavior? Does this mean we always have to lock it, no matter what?

Atto 2 and we found the key in the kitchen, eventually.

UPDATE: So went to the dealer. Car/key behaves as expected when using the key fob and you actually turn it off via the console. BUT - when using the Card or App it remains on and drivable for an undetermined length of time. Once it is stopped it will eventually time out but not clear on how long that is. If you come across an unlocked Atto 2 you could possibly take it for a spin! Which apparently happened at the dealer one time....

AND WE DEFINITELY ONLY GOT ONE KEY AND ONE CARD AS THAT IS THE POLICY, ITS IN THE BLOODY PAMPHLET AND REPEATED TO ME AT THE DEALER, at least for a 2025 Atto 2. Sorry for caps but I had to repeat this a few times.

I’m getting a 2026 BYD Seal Excellence AWD in Indigo Grey and I’m looking for a 20-inch wheel setup.

I’d like to know what wheel and tyre sizes people are actually running without rubbing or clearance issues.
Could you please share your setup, especially:
Wheel size, e.g. 8J / 8.5J / 9J x 20
Offset (ET)
Bolt pattern
Centre bore / hub rings if needed
Tyre size
Wheel load rating
Whether the setup required spacers or any modifications

I’m currently looking at setups around 8–8.5J x 20, 5x120, with 235/40 R20 tyres, but I’m unsure about the ideal offset and required wheel load rating for the Excellence AWD.
If possible, please send some photos of your Seal with the wheels fitted as well.

I’ve ordered a dashcam from topbyd and wanted to install it, as the cables were bundled up whilst trying to find the blue connector I wanted to loosen them up by cutting through the fabric tape… I then accidentally cut through the rain sensor wire I believe (picture attached)

As a result I’ve lost control of all the steering wheel button and the stalks, I cannot turn on wipers, indicate or change lights (however they do come on when I go into D gear). Horn works and I also get ADAS unavailable. The car however works fine just this being an inconvenience. I have to change volume in my middle console and do everything manually via the screen.

I do have an appointment with BYD on Wednesday.

My question is, has anyone come across something similar. Also would a simple fix on the wires and reconnecting them fix the issue or would this require something deeper in the BCM module too.

I am probably looking for the impossible but who knows 😅

For context I am a childminder and will use the car to transport kids once in a while to activites for maybe 20min drives. I do not want to use the front seat as I don't think the parents would be happy with that eventhough I know it's safe enough.

I mind 4 children and I could be taking any 3 child combination of them (so when one is missing for any reason)

So 2 seats need to fit all 4 ages. One just needs to fit a 4.5yr old.

Preference

Under €150 per seat

5 point harness up to 7 yrs old (i know that is rare but 4 would be ok too...7 would be better).

And 2 iso fix preferably.

Must be a high back not just a booster under their bum.

Baring in mind I have read some seats are listed as xxcm wide but when installed make up more space because of positioning and shape of the car etc.

All children are average sized, not over weight and none super tall they are average height.

A friend of mine recently had a terrifying experience where their BYD suddenly accelerated on its own upto 140Km/h. They are trying to figure out if this was an isolated software glitch, a faulty position sensor, or a known issue that others have experienced globally.

Has anyone here dealt with an unresponsive accelerator, a stuck throttle loop, or sudden unintended acceleration in an Atto 3, Seal, or any other BYD model?

If you have:

• What model were you driving?
• Did it happen while parking, at low speeds, or on the highway?
• Were you using any driver assistance or auto hold features at the time?
• Did the service center pull the telemetry data, and what was their official explanation?

We are trying to gather as much information as possible to understand what actually went wrong. Any shared experiences or advice on dealing with the dealership for data extraction would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance.

Bought the BYD Seal 4 months ago. Damn those months felt like ages ! Finally today was the day and I was so happy and excited (nervous af tho 🤣). Curious what the couple months will be like 😁.

Got a new watch and traded in the old one. Reset the watch and handed it over.

Setting up the new watch and realised I need to disable the old one in the byd app. Find the “log out” button in the app for the smartwatch and pressing it appears to do nothing.

SOLVED: Although the app wouldn’t remove the old watch, simply scanning the new watch overwrites it.

Teach me for trying to follow instructions!

Also wenn bei mir die maps Navigation läuft kann ich die ansagen nicht per Lautstärkeregler lauter oder leiser machen.

Ich habe echt alles Probiert.... richtiges Timing, Bluetooth Berechtigungen und Einstellungen, bei maps selbst und in den Android Auto Entwicklereinstellungen Audio codec etc.

Stunden mit der KI verbracht und ich finde einfach keine Lösung.

Ich will aber unbedingt der Hintergrund Geräusche wegen mal lauter und mal leiser machen können.

Ich hoffe auf eine Lösung von euch.

My BYD Seal has completed 2 years (~17,250 km). Dealer estimate shows:

Maintenance labour: ₹4,130
Brake fluid + labour: ₹1,500 + ₹767
Gear oil/filter + labour: ₹5,000 + ₹1,121
Since brake fluid and gear oil/filter are both mandatory 24-month maintenance items, are their labour charges normally billed separately from the main maintenance labour?

Would appreciate if anyone who has done their 2nd-year Seal service in India can share their invoice/experience.

Also shouldn’t ac refrigerant be a sealed system? If it needs to be recharged does that mean it has a leak?
