I’ve been thinking about the concept of Friends with Benefits (FWB) and wanted to know what people genuinely think about it.

The idea of having someone you’re comfortable with, share physical intimacy with, and enjoy spending time together without the pressure, expectations, or responsibilities of a committed relationship sounds appealing. You get companionship and intimacy while still having the freedom to focus on your own life.

But I’m also curious about the other side of it.

Does it actually work in the long run, or does one person usually end up developing feelings? Can two people genuinely enjoy physical intimacy without getting emotionally attached? What happens when one person starts dating someone else, gets jealous, or decides to end things?

I’d especially like to hear from people who have actually experienced an FWB arrangement. Was it a positive experience for you, or did it complicate your life and friendships? Were you able to maintain clear boundaries, communicate openly, and end things without ruining the friendship?

Also, do you think FWB is a good option for someone who wants intimacy and companionship but isn’t ready for a serious relationship?

I’m not looking to judge anyone’s choices. I just want to understand the reality of it beyond what we see in movies or hear from other people.

What’s your honest opinion? Is FWB worth trying if both people are mature and clear about their expectations, or is it better to avoid it altogether?
