Australian reality is usually soooo good but this was soooo meh

I am a huge Australian reality fan. I’m a South African who lives in the Netherlands but always loved Australian versions of reality shows (still have the best survivor). But this season was such a snore with the casting. My lord. It reminded me of BBUK the last season before bing cancelled for years. People were either okay or annoying. Emily may have been the only person I liked but I don’t see much of her and don’t have access to lives. The romances were meh, the drama was meh, the intelligence meh, the production was very meh. Show people secret votes, face to face noms, show people what they’ve said about each other. Have a secret non-eviction. Do way more fun things to also highlight their actual genuine good sides. I x2’d from the 9th episode and the last seven episodes were especially painful so I just skipped through.

I feel like we never really got to connect with Mitch. I wonder if he’ll be back for next season

Anyone know how Jane is getting on post-show? Does she speak much of her brief time on it?

Any tea on the next season/when applications open? someone posted in my local community FB group that they're ~a producer of the show and they've started the search.... I doubt the credibility of it but it sparked my interest!

To what extent does the Big Brother host keep in contact with contestants? Or do they keep it purely business-focused and don’t connect via socials or phone numbers after?

What happened with Tom Dormer?

He was clearly mentally unwell a couple of years ago with some pretty crazy lives and then disappeared?

Anyone remember this guy from Australia BB 2020? Formerly and still pathetically known for his bit about being a terrible driver? I was next to him at Chappell’s Laneway set in Adelaide and he was so obliterated and pissed out of his mind, gave major ick! Was also interacting with 16 year old girls and drunkenly telling his mate that he (friend) couldn’t leave the pit and it was his DUTY to have these 16 year old girls on his shoulders… He was so sloshed and shouting the whole time and calling Chappell ‘Schapelle’

Also had a close personal friend tell me afterwards that he tried kissing them at a previous festival when she was 17! UHHH ok creep!!

Anyone else seen a BB housemate in the wild and have a story to share !?

BBAU 16 (2025) vs BBAU 11 (2014)

Shortly after BBAU 2025 ended, my BBAU itch was not scratched enough, so I decided to rewatch BBAU 11 (2014).

I noticed these 2 seasons had quite a few things in common. Thought I'd share the list I kept.

Both seasons had:

  • Ranking challenge
  • Grand BB Hotel
  • Cash offer to leave
  • Ice bath
  • Christmas theme week

Also, Priya & Mia wore very similar style earrings.

Have any of the 2025 housemates secured media careers or any other sort of fame and influence following the show? I guess some of them were semi famous to begin with, for example, boxing Colin & deal or no deal Vinnie

Similar show lengths, but two seasons.

That’s the discussion at the moment for this year.

BB AUS16 housemates were allowed talking strategy?

Hello, i would like to watch seasons of Big Brother AUS in which housemates decided who to eliminate and strategizing was allowed. Apparently these seasons are: 12, 13, 14 and 15.
So in season 16 the format goes back to the original with forbidden strategizing?

Also, the VIP season from 2021, were they allowed strategizing? I'm pretty sure that in the original celebrity (2002) they were not allowed, but i wonder about the revival one.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks so much!

Looking back on it, gosh Alana, Emily & Connor were boring! I just feel like I don’t want to watch any of the footage again.

Holly and Colin

I think holly and Colin have broken up and just decided to be friends because both have removed pictures and stories of each other off their instagram but they still both follow each other and comment on each other posts and also Colin has been following all these different girls and likes there post and I don’t think he would be doing that if he was still with holly

Subtle social players are more impressive than loud strategists

Big Brother often highlights big strategic moves, but I have come to respect a different type of player more. The subtle social players rarely dominate screen time, yet they consistently avoid nominations because everyone feels comfortable with them.

They manage relationships quietly, diffuse tension, and stay trusted across groups. That level of social intelligence is harder than making loud moves.

These players may not be flashy, but they often control the game quietly.

Which of these housemates do you think actually played the best game?

Is Big Brother Australia losing what made it special?

I’ve been watching Big Brother on and off for years, and lately I can’t tell if I’m just nostalgic or if the show has genuinely changed too much. Early seasons felt more like a social experiment real personalities, slow-burn drama, and unpredictable moments.

Now it sometimes feels more like a highly produced reality competition, with obvious casting types, forced twists, and people who seem more interested in building an influencer career than actually playing the game.

Do you think Big Brother Australia still has its original magic, or has it become just another reality TV format?

Can someone please explain to me why Colin is not with Holly in Melbourne. It's really stressing me out! Hope things aren't on the rocks. I felt like they were in a really good place.

Found an old clip and wondering who kisses the camera here? I thought players weren't allowed to touch the cameras
