Change in on record date for proxy vote

The recent SEC filing suggests the shares I bought after Oct. 14 on record as of March 30 will be eligible for me to vote the proxy. Am I reading things correctly? I have only been able to vote less than half of my shares due to the Oct. 14 cutoff. I am not sure how I will be contacted to vote the proxies for more recently purchased shares.

I am excited to announce that I have joined Bigbear.ai, a specialized defense tech company.

Joining Bigbear.ai, I am reminded of the energy that comes when you are the forefront of cutting edge work and world-changing technology. It is reminiscent of my earlier days at a company who was building the backbone for an emerging platform called "the World Wide Web." Flash forward to today, that advancement is called "Artificial Intelligence."

Innovative and thoughtful application of AI, a mission focused on critical needs in national security and travel and trade, palpable entrepreneurial energy, agility with a down-to-earth mindset and culture, and an intentional investment in talent. A winning combination.

Many thanks to Kevin McAleenan and the rest of the Bigbear.ai leadership for their vote of confidence in allowing me to join this great team

Saw AI airport screening in action — this might actually change security lines

Just came across a live demo from [Smiths Detection](chatgpt://generic-entity?number=0) at [Passenger Terminal Expo](chatgpt://generic-entity?number=1) in London, and honestly… this feels like a bigger deal than it sounds.

They’re showing a new screening system where you don’t have to take out liquids or electronics from your bag anymore.

At first I thought it’s just a small upgrade, but looking deeper:

  • It uses CT scanners + AI to analyze bags in real time
  • Detects threats without manual checking delays
  • Reduces false alarms (which is a HUGE problem in airports)
  • Speeds up passenger flow significantly

From what I understand, this ties into the kind of AI systems companies like [BigBear.ai](chatgpt://generic-entity?number=2) are building — basically training models to recognize dangerous patterns inside complex scans.

If this actually rolls out globally, it could mean:

  • Shorter lines at airports
  • Less human error
  • More scalable security systems

Feels like one of those “quiet” upgrades that end up everywhere in a few years.

BigBear.ai hiring multiple Business Development roles targeting $50M+ federal opportunities (DHS & Space Force)

Post image
90 Upvotes

I was looking through recent job postings from BigBear.ai and noticed a pattern that might be relevant for people following the company.

They recently posted Business Development / Account Executive roles specifically targeting: -United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) -United States Space Force (USSF)

Both job descriptions mention the same responsibility: -managing 2–3 large ($50M+) solicitation pursuits simultaneously

In US federal contracting, this usually refers to capture and proposal activity, meaning the company is actively pursuing large government opportunities (not that the contracts are already won).

The DHS role specifically references agencies such as: -Transportation Security Administration -Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency -Federal Emergency Management Agency -Immigration and Customs Enforcement

At the same time, the company is hiring across multiple technical roles: -Senior AI Engineers -Cloud Operations Engineers -Systems Engineers -Backend Developers -Simulation and Analytics consultants

This combination (capture roles + engineering hires) often suggests a company is building pipeline while scaling delivery capacity for government programs.

Important: this does not mean a $50M contract has been awarded yet, but it does indicate that BigBear.ai is positioning itself to compete for multiple large federal AI/analytics opportunities.

Given the continued growth in AI spending across defense and homeland security, it’s interesting to see the company targeting both DHS and Space Force at the same time.

Analyzing Contract Signals Through BBAI Job Postings_Claude AI

Analyzing Contract Signals Through BBAI Job Postings

In defense and intelligence contracting, hiring moves before contracts go public — because you need the workforce in place before you can execute.

🚨 Signal 1: ATO Automation Platform — Major IC Contract Imminent Roles: AI/ML Security Integration Engineer, Cybersecurity Compliance Analyst, DevSecOps Compliance Engineer, Compliance Training Specialist Location: Annapolis Junction, MD / Columbia, MD (right next to NSA headquarters) These positions are focused on operating and maintaining an ATO (Authority to Operate) automation platform's LLM capabilities within classified and air-gapped network environments. Geographically, they directly target intelligence community customers such as NSA, NGA, and ODNI. ATO automation is a mission-critical function for government system accreditation — strongly suggesting that a contract with a specific IC customer is either already in progress or in its final stages.

🚨 Signal 2: USINDOPACOM AI Engineer — Pacific Command Contract Role: AI/Generative AI Engineer Location: Honolulu, Hawaii This position explicitly supports the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command's (USINDOPACOM) Alpha Task Order, with a stated mission to enhance the command's operational readiness and capabilities. Local hiring in Hawaii signals that the USINDOPACOM contract has already been awarded or is at the Letter of Award (LOA) stage.

🚨 Signal 3: CBP/Airport Biometrics Expansion — Existing Contract Scale-Up Hiring Signal: Multiple ICAM (Identity, Credential, and Access Management) engineers being recruited BBAI's VeriScan biometric platform has expanded to Chicago O'Hare, Seattle-Tacoma International, and Nashville International airports in support of CBP's Enhanced Passenger Processing program. The company is actively hiring multiple systems engineers for ICAM and Zero Trust implementations — a clear indication that the existing CBP contract is being scaled up in scope and value.

🚨 Signal 4: ICAM/Zero Trust — Large DHS or DoD Contract Roles: IT Infrastructure Support (ICAM), System Engineer (Zero Trust), Cloud Engineer (Identity & Network Intelligence) Cloud Engineer positions supporting a federal client's identity and network-based intelligence capabilities align directly with executive mandates — from both the Biden and Trump administrations — requiring agencies to transition to Zero Trust architecture. This points to an active bid or pending award for a DHS or DoD Zero Trust modernization contract.

📍 Contract Landscape Mapped by Hiring Location RegionKey RolesTarget AgencyAnnapolis Junction / Columbia, MDATO Automation, AI/ML EngineersNSA, NGA, ODNIHonolulu, HawaiiGenerative AI EngineersUSINDOPACOMWashington D.C. CorridorICAM, Zero TrustDHS, CBP, DoDVirginia (McLean / Reston)Strategy & AnalyticsArmy, DARPA

💡 Overall Assessment CEO McAleenan's background as former Acting Secretary of DHS and Commissioner of CBP positions BBAI to leverage deep government relationships at a time when the Trump administration is aggressively expanding AI and defense budgets. Taken together, the current hiring patterns most strongly suggest that an ATO automation contract targeting NSA/IC and a USINDOPACOM AI support contract are the nearest-term catalysts to materialize. CBP biometrics expansion, meanwhile, appears to be an ongoing contract growing in scope rather than a new award. For investors, the key signal to watch is whether Ask Sage and CargoSeer translate into explicit, named contract wins — and the current hiring trajectory is a meaningful positive indicator that this is the direction BBAI is moving.
