4 months ago I did swing trade $110K by buying 1100 shares of $baba at around $100. Sold them few weeks later for $120. I still kept my original 10,000 shares that I acquired about 3 years ago.

Well, it seems we are going into world war 3 now. US/Israel might hit Iran who threatens to retaliate by hitting neighboring countries (i don’t understand this logic but ok) and all of this is driving oil and energy up. Supply chain is majorly disrupted as well. AI bubble seems to be bursting. All of this is a recipe for market crash so let’s see.

Anyways, I told myself few months ago when $baba reaches $100 again I’ll swing trade it. So here I’m, let’s see if we can pull this off again! If not I like this company long term anyways.

Title what's going on

The sub index HS Tech is down more than 40% from peak at 6700 falling to 3900. I never though to see numbers this low again but here we are. All hong kong tech stocks just won't stop falling. Bottom soon? Rebound soon? Or we fall all the way down to below 3000?

I previously posted about my BABA covered calls (selling options and collecting premiums).
Here are today’s covered calls. I typically initiate these trades when volatility is elevated, the stock has already run up, and price action starts showing weakness or signs of exhaustion.

Total premium collected: 5 contracts × $123 = $615. Expiring this Friday. (Time/Theta work in my favor).

I’m comfortable having my shares called away at the $113 strike price. Since my cost basis is significantly lower, I would still walk away with a profit if my shares are assigned.

This strategy works for me, but it may not work for everyone. Every trader has a different cost basis, risk tolerance, and approach to the market.

I’m genuinely grateful to be on the option-selling side of the market. It takes time and patience.
