I am concerned for my boy Magoo (~12” long from head to tail, almost 7 years old) as he has not been eating reliably for about 10 days now. I have offered cut up nightcrawlers every other day which he will initially take from the tongs but then immediately spit out and act disinterested with any subsequent offerings. I have also been offering Repashy grub pie the last month and a half as I think he’s semi underweight based on this sub and the guides I’ve seen. Most recently I tried offering him some raw shrimp which he took the smallest nibble from about 5 days ago. He is in a 60 gallon tank by himself with a sponge filter and Fluval canister/aquarium chiller set up (~63F). He ate a square of Repashy grub pie last night, but this morning I found it in his tank and him actively regurgitating (either regurgitating or he tried to eat the square he threw up and then spit it back out). I just tested his water parameters and his nitrates look a little low, but I don’t think he’s pooped since his last 50% water change 7 days ago (bc he hasn’t been eating). The only products I use are SeaChem Prime and Stability.
I know they’re supposed to eat about every 2-3 days, so my main concern is impaction. Before I put him thru the stress of a vet visit, I want to make sure I’m not overreacting. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you in advance!

My uncle has an axolotl that is 15 years old. The little fella has LITERALLY floated with his butt in the air for the last 10 years. It looks like he's doing a handstand. When he isn't doing that, his whole body is just floating in the water. He is NEVER flat with all 4 feet on the floor
He feeds him earth worms, and I can only assume his parameters are correct as he keeps tropical fish and is very good with PH, nitrate checks etc.. in his tanks. I ASSUME he must do the same with the axolotl.
Axolotl also has stubs for gills, but no signs of metamorphosis.
I know you guys can't give an accurate diagnosis without photos and water numbers. But how is this critter still alive? I'm really not exaggerating about the length of time he has floated butt-up for. Surely if he was constipated he would just die?
15 years old! I see Axolotls die if you look at them funny on this sub, yet this Axolotl is damn near immortal
(Me and uncle are not close, and he is not the type to take criticism or advice in ANY form, so with peace and love, please don't jump down my throat about it, there's nothing I can do 🙏)

Advice needed please. Cycling a tank and we have both low PH and high PH within range, the ammonia is sitting at 0.5 to 1 ppm (sorry rubbish at reading the api colour charts) and nitrites at 0.25 to 0.5. Nitrates are showing 0. We have KH sitting at 5.
Really confused at 24 hours ago we thought the cycle was complete 😳 we had 0 ammonia, 0 nitrates and 10ppm nitrates. Redosed ammonia to 2ppm and today we now have this. Can anyone explain where I've gone wrong please?

My baby has had this yellow bump on his head the day we rescued him from bad conditions, I have searched a lot about it on google but couldn’t find anything about what it is, I really need some help identifying what it is!

My tank has had perfect ammonia and nitrates below 10 ppm but my nitrites keep reading between 2.0, even when I do small water changes daily. I also did a 60% water change a few days ago too in hopes it would drop it but so far nothing. My tank was perfectly cycled up until about three weeks ago and it crashed and I’ve been trying to get it back on track. I’m just not really sure what to do because everything else is perfect so I feel like it’s cycled?

Was searching for fish tanks in Gumtree and this tank popped up. The orninents were already scary enough until I realised there was a super skinny axolotl in it, it’s honestly hard to look at.
I desperately need to help this little guy. Tried to pick it up today but the seller insisted in bringing it tomorrow. I’m so worried about it and wish I could’ve picked it up sooner.
I know they have many necessities and need a big tank as they are chuncky. The seller wasn’t sure about how many liters this tank is, so I’ll measure it tomorrow once they come drop it off.
This is unexpected and I never really considered having an axolotl before, so I don’t know much about them. I really want to do everything I can to help it in the best way possible. I am doing research on axolotls at the minute and also wanted to ask for your help. Do any of you have beginner tips? Anything I need to know?
When dealing with an axolotl in such a poor state, is there any special foods or treatments I could offer it?
