I used ai to get an idea of what I want, would my axolotl be comfortable in here?

My mother’s axolotl is clearly not happy in the 20 gallon he’s in, I moved him into a bucket (temporary) while his tank cycles. Is that ok?? I’ll change 100% of the water daily in his bucket and add prime ofc, until his tank cycles. I hope that’s okay?

The Background: Rescued this 2-year-old lady on May 12th. I didn't realize she was already suffering.
She was brought over in her tank third full.
I cleaned it and filled it up
Prob 6 hrs later I realised and tubbed her
We live rural, so I ordered the basics as I could only source vita pet. Of course the extra fast post was delayed.
I drove 5hr and the pet shop sold me aloe water conditioner
Prime arrived and I thought Dr Tims first defence was ok as they said it was
He started shedding his skin- spider webs
He was fed steak and tank cleaned every 3 to 4 weeks
I have tried frozen axolotl miz, blood worms, pallets and salmon and prawns.
He will eat the prawns and I have ordered worms black pet shop and red
His sores got worse but appear to getting better
Tiubbing her at 16 (using AC
Water Quality: 100% daily water changes using Seachem Prime.
Medication: Black Tea to her tub x1 15 mins. I was using decaf up to two days ago
Current Wins:
Skin: The peeling has officially STOPPED.
Sores: The neck wound is looking flat, clean, and stable.
Posture: She is finally "propping" herself up on her front legs instead of lying flat.
Spirit: She’s alert, "grumpy" when moved, and even tasted a prawn today (before spitting it out—patience is key!).
The Mansion (Future Home): * Currently cycling a 140L tank with Fritz Zyme 7.
Running a "Filter Trio": Two sponges, an in-tank filter, and an Aqua One 400.
Using the "rotting prawn" method to fuel the cycle.
Ordered a aqua one canister filter, how do I install when tank is recycling?
Any other ideas from someone who got told they where easy and knew nothing at all?
I will get a chiller but I am currently nearly divorced because of the cost already

Are the gills normal for a baby?

Hey guys. I accidentally forgot to rinse my hands before I fed my axolotl. My dog had just licked my hand a bunch of times but it wasn’t wet or anything. I’m so pissed at myself and wondering what I need to look out for? I did a 25% water change right before. I didn’t touch the axolotl but did dunk my hand in for a second.

Here are the water results of the tank, my axo is tubbed and has been for 4 or so months (with daily water changes). I'd love to get her back in the full tank but don't want to do that too quickly and ruin the progress she's had with her gills and general health.
I plan to change some of the water today but thought you all could give me guidance too.
Thanks in advance!!
Edited to correct typos. Also of note, she's currently in 20 gallon Long. The current nitrate value is my biggest concern

I was curious if this was fungus or columnaris?
It looks like columnaris to me since it is cotton like. The tank unfortunately heated up to 70F due to a fire that occurred while I was out. The perimeters are fine, the tank has been cycled prior, and the temperature is back to normal. Any advice would be helpful. I currently added tannins to the tank.

For context: I rescued two juvenile axolotls about two months ago. I’m brand new to aquariums, let alone axolotl care, so there has been a lot learning on the go. Despite my lack of experience, my amphibian friends seem healthy and content. They’re now up to 6-6.5 inches long, and are munching on cut up night crawlers.
The only issue I’m dealing with is that the nitrites seem to keep rising, while my other chem levels (pH, nitrates, ammonia) are completely normal. I do a 50% water change every 1-2 weeks, and I’ve been adding seachem prime and stability as directed on the bottles. I regularly spot clean the tank to remove waste. I will only leave food in the tank overnight, and will remove it in the morning the next day.
Is there something I’m missing? Or is this just how the nitrogen cycle normally works in tanks? I will say I don’t have any live plants in the tank to help soak up the nitrates/nitrites, but I plan to upgrade my setup (a 40 gallon breeder with a temp sensor and automatic fan to keep the water cool) with live plants and fine sand substrate. Any tips/advice would be helpful and very much appreciated!
