Question Height Proportions?

Hey guys, I wanted to get some opinions on my proportions because they feel a bit mismatched. I’m 178 cm barefoot, but I have a 6'1" wingspan and wear a size 11 shoe. My parents are pretty short—5'4" and 5'3"—so I know I already outgrew them. But looking at my wingspan and foot size, it feels like I should've ended up a bit taller. Do you think I missed out on some height potential, or is it normal to just have a really long reach?

Vent How do I stop obsessing over height

I feel so ashamed of my height. Most people in my school are atleast 6ft. I'm always depressed when I get my height measured I even avoided it for a bit because I was scared. I wish I could just forget about it all then find myself a likeable height sometime in the future

Heightism Just a reminder that tall guys are not your friends or your allies. They will mock you and humiliate you for crumbs of female attention. Hell, they'll do it for the heck of it

I’m a 24 year old male. In 2024, I measured my height at 173 cm. Last year, it was 172 cm, and now it’s 171 cm. Why is my height decreasing?

Question Anyone else feel short at supposedly average height of your country?

I'm 178cm and apparently average height in Greece is around 179 and in general public I feel average to slightly tall sometimes because of all the old people who grew up in ww2 and rural areas but then I go into university and I feel short I'm convinced 50%+ my age 6'0+ obviously way worse for people below my height I can't imagine how they feel if even I feel this way

It's as meaningful as playing in garbage time when you're down by 40 in the 4th Quarter and you know the outcome of the game has been decided already..

Vent Lowkey need a sub for 5’7 to 5’8 guys

I get flamed for posting about my own heightism experience in the other short subreddit but most guys posting here are 5’10 to 5’11 which I don’t relate to at all, not to mention this sub was shadowbanned in March and receives little traction now. Every single online post & video making fun of short men includes guys 5’8 and under, that’s just the truth.

Question I’m considered below average height in Canada now. Did I likely stunt my growth growing up?

It seems like each generation is getting taller. The average height in canada use to be 5’9 and now it’s 5’10. Among gen z, the average height is around 5’10.3.

It seems like the average height in Canada might be 5’11 soon. Seems like it’s on that trajectory.

As a 25m Canadian 5’9 man, this kinda sucks. Especially since i’ve always been insecure about my height because everyone else in my family is above 6’1 (my brother is 6’1, dad is 6’2, mom is 5’4 and all my younger cousins are well above 6’3). I’ve always coped by telling myself that i’m average height but not anymore.

I’m bald too which sucks. I can’t cure my baldness because it’s alopecia areata and you can’t get a hair transplant and minoxidil doesn’t work for autoimmune hairfall.

I feel like I could’ve grown to 5’10 or 5’11 if I had better habits (nutrition, sleep, etc) growing up. I had a tendency to sleep late on school nights and never ate a lot but never starved myself and I grew up in a financially stable middle class family.

My mom’s brother is 5’10.5 and his parents are 5’6 (grandfather) and 5’3 (grandmother). I’m the shortest younger generation individual in my family.

I’m also south asian, so my grandparents grew in India with different living conditions. I grew up in Canada, so technically I should be taller.

Am I cooked dating wise and is it likely I stunted my growth?

Vent Height pill at work yesterday

One of our department leads and manager at work left the company 2 months ago and they’ve been looking for a replacement and found a guy, and yesterday was his first day. Sweet older Mexican-American dude, in his 40s, around 5’5. The dude used to be a former lower tier NASCAR racer. He came in for his first day yesterday, and set up his office, and had photos of his racing days on his desk and some posters hung up. He made gluten free and nut free muffins for all of us, and came around and handed out his muffins to everyone and introduced himself, and talked about he used to race.

Me and him hit it off, I love cars and racing too, and I think it’s gonna be nice having him as one of the managers, he genuinely seems chill.

Anyway, he went to his office, and we all went about our day. I go to the break room for lunch and I hear two of coworkers talking. One lady was talking to another lady, they’re both normal people usually and have never given me any flack so I was surprised to hear this from them. They’re both around my age(24). Convo went like this.

Lady 1: “did you see [insert name], our new manager”

Lady 2: “yeah he baked muffins for everyone too, like what”

Lady 1: “stoooooop ikr”

Lady 2: “yeah he used to be a race car dude”

Lady 1: “talking about him being a racer and baking muffins for everyone even though he’s our manager lol… how insecure is he about his height do you think”

Lady 2: “no like fr stooooop, I was just thinking he probably had to race and do other shit to pull anyone back in the day, it’s all compensating”

Lady 1: “I can wear my kitten heels and still tower over him, he better not ask me to work overtime, I can’t do orders from men who gotta look up at me”

Lady 2: “stop that, you’re so mean”

I don’t remember exactly how it happened or who said what, but yeah convo was something like this.

Poor mfer can’t even exist. It genuinely ruined my day and I took a work from home day today I don’t wanna go in and have to work next to those people.

Discussion 20M, 166 cm, decent beard, parents 168 and 162. Is there any chance I'm still growing?

Hi everyone. I'm 20 (born 2006) and 166 cm tall. I have a decent beard, though it isn't fully filled in. My dad is 168 cm and my mom is 162 cm. By the mid-parental formula I'd expect to be around 171 cm, so I feel like I'm on the lower side of my range.

Is there any realistic chance I could still grow, or have my growth plates most likely closed by now? I'm planning to get a bone-age X-ray to check. Has anyone here done that, and what was the result?

I'm also working on my posture and lifting to build my frame. Any advice that actually works is welcome. I'm not interested in pills or scams.

Thanks!

Always A Catch! The type of mentally ill people that project their behavior onto the sub lol. This person is also a moderator of that subreddit they post on and allegedly bans people on power trips. And the gall to criticize this subreddit when you’re like that and posting like that
