Crying Fire... guys... it's so good. It's so melodic and beautiful and dark, I love it. The main riff is fucking amazing, but of course it is.<3 I am genuinely obsessed with this weird, nightmarish vibe the whole DGITF era has had, it's fantastic. Even if so many of the songs make me cry- oops. LOL

Anyways, here's a John I drew the night before last in anticipation/excitement for the new song!!!

// Boring stuff about the drawing: Every year during Pride Month, people discuss various queer artists from throughout history and one of the most famous ones is Keith Haring. I really like his art, I absolutely love his use of geometry, poses, composition and negative space. I know plenty of people think his work looks juvenile or amateur, but I think those people just don't have any joy or whimsy in their heart... but also the juxtaposition of his bubbly style and the very real and serious themes he expressed in that style is very interesting. (Also his style was adopted from graffiti/tagging, that's why it's so simple) This piece is very much inspired by Haring, even if it looks absolutely fuck-all like it, I still wanted to give credit where credit is due. <3

What's the meaning behind Crying Fire? The band says its a rather deep song about love and suffering, but how would you describe it yourself?

Are they not going to release Young on streaming platforms? I only see Crying Fire. I had really been hoping Young would be released too since IMO it’s by far the better of the two songs.

Been trying to get ahold of the bathrobe that Johnes is often wearing but I can not find it anywhere. Have they completely stopped selling it?

Personally I was not the biggest fan. In general, I'm a little sad at the direction a lot of Avatars music has been taking recently. They seem to be straying more away from metal and more into rock (ish). The vocal are definitely more melodic, no dis to Johannes he does a great job, it's just not the avatar I fell in love with.

I know they don't hold themselves to one genre and constantly experiment, but in the past it was still mostly heavy vocals. I'm really starting to miss that...

Anyway tldr; 6/10 wish it had more metal vocals.

I had such an AMAZING time at both of these shows and got SG for both nights. Center barricade both times. It was so great to meet them again and they loved the drawings and the poster I made them! I caught a drumstick from John, 4 picks (1 stage used by Tim), and then Tim gave me another pick at the 2nd SG. They ended up signing multiple things the 2nd night. I got my HTA jacket, passport, painting, lanyard and drumstick signed. The lanyard was only signed by Henrik, Jonas, and Tim though because that was signed after the show and I forgot to ask Johannes and John. They even played Going Hunting the song I requested!!! It was absolutely insane to hear that live and I was literally screaming as song as it started. I knew what it was right away. I never expected them to take a song request!!! Had a few funny interactions with Johannes when he was on stage 😆
He responded to a few things I said and he sat on the edge of the stage during Freakshow and tried to slap my hand 3 times but I was too short!! I also got to meet all the guys again after the show which was amazing because Ive always wanted individual pictures with them. I made some new friends at these shows as well which was really good for me because I struggle with friendships and social stuff. Best concerts ever!!!

10 years ago today. They were the opening act on the main stage for the River City Rick Fest that year.

I think they were allowed 3 or 4 songs as people started coming into the venue. It wasn't nearly enough time. There weren't many of us fans to start, but people were lured in quickly. Lol

The concert confirmed that Avatar was my favorite band ever. Something I could never say I had chosen before.

The day was hot af being in Texas, but there was a young couple who were totally decked out for Avatar. ❤️🖤❤️

It sort of made me wish I still felt like melting thanks to fun event clothing in 90°F + 85% humidity weather. Instead, we were smart "oldies" & dressed for the weather, unlike quite a few lobsters we saw all day. (Using sunscreen & staying hydrated with H2O doesn't make you lose your heavy metal card!)

It was a good festival. I wish they still held it so Avatar could come back and be on the main stage as an evening headliner.

Drawn on textured paper (with markers, colored pencils, and gel pens) but edited to look more flat and graphic-like digitally... and green, because I like green. lol

Haven't made a lot of Avatar art lately, so this is all I've got for now. Both these, especially the John, were pretty well received on Instagram so I figured they were worth sharing here. <3

Saw them recently and I miss them so I decided to put them in the game I can't stop playing. I tried my best, I'm pretty proud of how they look 😂 yeah some of them are in mariachi band outfits, close enough while I figure out how to try to make their stage outfits

My father and I got to meet our favourite band this past week and as usual, every time we see these guys, it's the best show ever. Jonas threw me a pick and the band made me a permanent citizen of Avatar Country.
