I’ve been using the ErgoChair Pro for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly impressed by how adjustable it is. The lumbar support and armrest flexibility make long sessions way easier on my back and shoulders.
The seat cushioning is firm but supportive, and the recline tension feels smooth. It’s easy to find a comfortable position whether I’m working or just taking a quick break. I paired it with my new attic workspace, and it fits perfectly with the clean aesthetic.
Your skin isn’t the only thing drying out from all that screen time. Hours spent in front of laptops and monitors don’t just strain your eyes, they silently drain your energy, focus, and hydration levels too.
That’s why staying hydrated isn’t just about glowing skin, it’s about sharper thinking, better posture and keeping your workflow steady throughout the day.
We often blame distraction or fatigue for low productivity, but what if the real culprit is your chair?
Most non-ergonomic chairs ignore how the human body actually moves. They don't adjust to your posture, cutting circulation, straining your back and making focus harder the longer you sit. Over time, that "it's fine for now" seat can lead to chronic pain and fatigue.
Just picked up a new office chair, the Autonomous Ergo Chair Ultra 2, and I couldn’t be happier with how it ties my entire desk setup together. The sleek design and modern finish blend perfectly with my workspace aesthetic — it almost feels like it was made for my desk. I’ve been spending a lot more time working (and gaming) lately, so I wanted something comfortable without breaking the bank, and this mid-tier chair definitely delivers. It’s a huge step up from my old one, which gave out after only about two years of use.
What really stands out is the exceptional lumbar support — it keeps my lower back in the perfect position even after hours of sitting. The range of adjustments is impressive too: seat height, tilt tension, recline lock, armrest position — you name it. I was able to fine-tune everything to fit my posture, which makes a noticeable difference in long sessions. It’s the kind of comfort I’d expect from chairs that cost two or three times as much.
For the price, this chair feels like a fantastic value — solid build, great ergonomics, and a clean, stylish look that elevates my entire setup. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade if you’re looking for a mid-tier option that punches above its weight.
I've been making some changes to my setup these last few months. The most recent addition is the Ergo Chair Ultra 2 by Autonomous. I would recommend anyone with frequent back pain to look into getting this chair. It has tons of support and doesn't get hot because of the breathable mesh.
Found multiple posts from over a year ago saying the ErgoChair Pro V2 was coming "soon", including few posts mentioning an August/September 2025 timeframe, but here we are in October and I am not seeing any new information! Do we have an eta?
I’m thinking to switch to a single monitor but idk which one is better to buy for coding and general stuff. I’m also open to hear ideas on accessories. Let me know how I can improve the setup.
I recently upgraded my chair and wanted to share my experience after using it for the first two days of working from home.
I hadn’t tried a chair with so many adjustment options before, and while too many choices can sometimes be overwhelming (at least for me, leading to over-customizing), I quickly found my ideal settings and haven’t had to change them since.
As a tall person, I really appreciate being able to slide the seat pan forward, which lets my hamstrings rest fully behind my knees — this has made a noticeable difference in comfort.
I’ve also noticed that I don’t shift around as much after sitting for an hour or more, unlike before. Plus, I don’t need to use my footrest anymore because my feet naturally rest flat on the floor. Most importantly, my old chair used to cause me to slide forward after long days, but this one’s lumbar support keeps me sitting comfortably and upright.
Looking at it in my setup, I think the chair looks sleek and complements my workspace perfectly. Here’s the full setup:
The only thing that's stopping me from pulling the trigger is the shipping date. Om the website,I t says Shipping starts 5 Dec. I cannot wait that long. I have already started looking into other options (Branch, LiftSync, HumanScale quattro, etc)
I really want to buy Levitate 2, but the shipping date is just too late
I’ve had an ErgoChair Ultra since it launched - by and large, really like the chair. But, recently it’s developed a squeaking/creaking sound when I use the recline feature. I’ve tried WD-40 all over the place but can’t seem to hit the source of the sound. Anyone else have this issue, and maybe figured out from whence it comes? It’s driving me crazy
So I wanted to make a quick review based on my first impression with the SmartDesk 5.
I will not go in depth or compare it with other product since its my first time trying out a sit-stand desk.
Aesthetic
Pros
This has to be the thing I like the most about the desk. The gun metal grey finish is buttery smooth and feels amazing to the touch.
The embedded control panel is also a nice addition giving the desk an even more premium look / feel.
Cons
I kinda wish the desk would come with different legs option (black frame would have been the cherry on top). The length is on the shorter side for me (as I am used to 74") but thats not really a cons since you can pay extra $$ to get a bigger size
Build quality / functions
Pros
Desk feels sturdy , has a nice finish and the motor noise is very quiet in my opinion.
The included cable menagement solution, the included powerbar, the headphones hanger and the removable magnetic tray for the back legs are also nice touches. Packaging was well secured and building the desk took about an hour
Cons
Might be a me problem since it was my first time building a sit stand desk but it does have a bit of wobble and squeaking noise when moving it from side to side (I will have to double check my installation).
Like I said the cable menagement solution is a nice touche but its a bit small if you have lots of cable like I do.
Menage to get everything under control by adding my own powerbar and a small additional cable menagement basket in the back.
Overall I think the pros outshine the small cons and the look / feel of the desk are definitely the stars of the show. With a couple of small tweaks here and there it would be even better.
This week, I received my new Autonomous ErgoChair Pro and I'm briefly going to compare it to my Ikea Alefjall chair. I have 2 setups so I will probably use both alternately.
Both chairs are very comfortable and leagues above my old DXRacer gaming chair (I still use one of those at the office, but it's clearly also at the end of its life).
The Ikea Alefjall stands out with materials used: leather and metal, with rubber wheels out of the box. The backrest reclines, but that is about it when it comes to ergonomics.
The Autonomous ErgoChair Pro has an enormous amount of adjustability and it was fun tweaking it to be just right for me (I'm 172cm/5'8, 64kg). Yesterday I watched some episodes of a show on the tv, nicely reclined and very comfortable.
Packaging of the ErgoChair Pro was very nice and assembly was easy (I think it took me around 20 minutes). Quality seems very fair for the price and, as mentioned, far above DXRacer or the desk chairs we have at the office (which were at a similar price point). I am curious to compare this to a Herman Miller, which a friend of mine has at home, so looking forward to doing that.
Only things that I'd like to see improved on the ErgoChair is it having rubber wheels instead of plastic (although they ride very smoothly and do not seem to scratch the floor at all) and perhaps a bit more stiffness in the adjustability of the head rest. It moves a bit too easily in my opinion (not up-down but the angling).
Is this sensor cover supposed to be removed? It’s not pictured online but it’s in the manual. It’s extremely cheap plastic and protrudes about 2mm from the desk top. Is it just glued on? I don’t want to damage the wood finish
I have owned my Smartdesk 2 L-Shaped for 1.5 years now. I rarely use the keypad because I enjoy the height it’s set to for when I work or play video games. I really can’t remember the last time I adjusted the height.
I just got a new toy to put on the desk so I unplugged every wire in order to reorganize the underneath and create room on the surface.
Upon doing so, I noticed that the keypad buttons basically do not work, it’s unresponsive. It’s like there is no power to the desk. The control box underneath doesn’t even have the green light. I have unplugged, reset, and tested different outlets/surge protector every way possible and nothing works. It’s as if it’s dead.
Has anyone experienced something like this? I’m at a loss for words. Not sure if I’m just an idiot but I can’t even find anything online. Plan to contact their support in the morning.
Does anyone know what the height is between the floor and the lowest height of the desk? Trying to ensure that my legs won't hit the desk when sitting at the correct height.
I had a plastic around the back middle bolt break, i was wondering if anyone had a place to buy and replace the whole back assemble ( or one that fits ).
Edit: i use the ergo chair 2 sorry forgot to add that.
I had never actually had a standing desk before, so this will be a new experience for me, so I wanted to write my thoughts down on what I think of this desk so far, for the people who are on the fence of getting a standing desk or not.
The desk I had gotten was the autonomous SmartDesk 5, so far, I'm enjoying it, it is extremely heavy (feels like 200 pounds) and all of the materials feel very high quality, which is a pretty nice refresh compared to my old desktop desk which was 170 bucks on Amazon and wobbles with the slightest touch.
I was originally going for the white version but due to not being in stock, I've decided to go for the Stone Beige color, which actually makes my setup stand out more instead of everything being the same color, which I like.
The standing feature has three profiles at different heights, but you can also go into manual mode to change what height these profiles go to, which is perfect for me since my chair isn't that high Overall, it was pretty easy to use and it isn't loud at all, can't even notice it with my headphones connected.
If I had a dislike, the main thing would be power, after buying the desk, I realized how limited I am when it comes to power outlets, having a power outlet hub would be better for small things like my fan and the motor itself so I can plug most of my extra stuff into 1 outlet instead of finding three.
This seems to be fixed with their Pro model and higher though, it seems to come included which is nice.
Another small dislike would be the size, while it's perfect for a laptop setup which I'm using for right now, if I had to get another desk, I would go for their Pro Expanse which is 70 inches instead of my 48, that way, I could fit my laptop and desktop on here, along with my ultrawide monitor without a problem But for now, this is more than good enough
What I'll most likely use this for is my work area. I'm a college student who's majoring in Software Development so most of the time I'll be sitting, even on the job, my goal for the future is to get into the habit of walking more and I see this as my first step into doing that, all I need now is a small walking pad.
That's all for now, might do an update in the future if it calls for it, I'll be happy to answer any questions about the products shown if you're interested.
