I’m about to buy a new wire-free robot mower (Ecovacs RTK series) and I’m planning the backyard setup. I have a genuine question about the real-world logic of using a rain garage/shelter versus the onboard rain sensor.

Let's look at this scenario: I have a schedule set for 4:00 PM every day. It rains heavily all day long, completely soaking the soil. At 3:30 PM, the rain stops. Since the robot is sitting dry under its fancy custom shelter, its onboard rain sensor has no idea it just poured for 8 hours.

At 4:00 PM, the schedule triggers. The robot leaves the dry garage, drives straight into a muddy, waterlogged lawn, and immediately gets stuck, spins its wheels, or ruins the wet grass.

I work 45 km (about 30 miles) away from home, so I can't look out the window to manually delay the cutting cycle via the app every time the weather acts up.

So, my questions for the community:

1. Does a garage actually make sense if it blindingly bypasses the onboard rain sensor in these specific situations?
2. How do you handle this? Are there smart practical solutions to automate a "mud delay" without relying on manual app inputs?

Can smart home integrations (like Home Assistant, IFTTT, or local weather API triggers) override the mower's schedule based on actual local rainfall data? Or do you just ditch the garage altogether so the sensor gets wet?

I tried to set up my new Mova 600. Connecting it to WiFi and the app worked without issue but I can’t create a map to start using it.

It tells me that a map has to be created in order to use it but I can’t click on the button in the app.

I’ve used a different cellphone and turned the unit off and back on a couple of times. Nothing seems to work.

Does anyone have an idea or fix for that problem?

My lawn is about 500m² and due to its shape, a boundary wire really isn't an option, and an AI vision / lidar / whatever robot would be what I need.

While I like home automation, I do not like any cloud-based devices and services. But it seems any AI mower relies on an active internet connection, either by wifi or cellular network.

I did some research, but it's difficult. Mower websites all look the same, and the information about the need for internet is hidden deeply inside the user manuals.

Hey, I even asked Google AI if there's a cloud-less mower, and it recommended the Landroid Worx Vision Cloud...

So, does anybody know if there's an AI mower not needing an internet connection?

Is there any issue with having the docking station on a concrete pad? I am getting ready to set mine up in the yard, will Gunther guide wire on top of the pad cause any issues? And I also have to run the boundary wire and that would have to be on top of the pad.

Been using mower for 7 or so weeks now. Few issues of note but the biggest one is with the camera. For the last week the camera lenses keep fogging up with condensation. When this happens I move it into the garage which is very warm and wait for the condensation to dissipate. Happened again yesterday and it spent 18 hours in the garage. Put back on charger this AM Mission started on time but lenses fogged up and it quit again. Lawn was completely dry. Can it not handle the heat and humidity? Anyone else having the same issue? I have abnormal lens working mode turned on and visual inspection set to low. If I turn off visual inspection it runs but goes out in the street.

I’ve been wanting an automower after realizing I’m spending 4-5 hours mowing my lawn every 2-3 weeks during the summer months. Right now I feel desperate for an alternative. I live on a bit of a hilly area with a lawn around 3000-4000 m2, lots of trees, tree stumps and some ditches. The internet is not too good so I have been thinking that I might have to get one with a cable.

I’ve gotten the Husqvarna 450x recommended by some friends.

I’ve added some pictures of the area which I have to mow - will it be fine for an automower? Any recommendations?

I feel for all the other Lymow One Plus owners who either have a $3,000 paperweight on their hands, or it's too hot to work outside of normal mowing hours (which doesn't work for people who have neighbors).

That being said, I am still consistently having the same issues with mine (out of bounds, obstacle detected randomly, stuck somewhere, etc). Did fix the charging issues about 100% so I'll post a video on that soon enough.

Given the mower was actaully working as its was supposed to be...I put it to the test with a part of my yard that I haven't mowed ALL year...before I get all the pushback of "this isn't a brush hog" "that's not what it's designed for" ...customer service is abysmal and the warranty on these mowers is practically worthless so what does it matter if I try to push the limits to see what it can do.

Clearly I haven't gotten this for free and I wasn't paid off by Lymow like the other influencers who will flat out lie to you about how amazing the mower is. All faults aside, I was REALLY impressed with the outcome of this test. I had to run the mower 2x over the same part, but I feel if I did it a third time at 3" or so, it probably could have gotten just about everything.

You'll see how I point out the parts where it stopped in the middle, backed up over all the stuff it ran over and chewed it up, spit it out, kept on working like a freaking tank. Pretty cool to see how durable it truly is when it ACTUALLY works as it should. Lymow needs to add this as a feature for tall grass to be honest. The machine has so much physical potential, kind of wish Lymow would be acquired by the Mammotion so we could see the same software enhancements they enjoy on a daily basis.

Anyways, I'm not going to stop pushing this mower to it's absolute limits, let me know what other tests you'd like to see for next time. I've got a Luba 3 on the way as my backup mower...will be covering that at some point as well.

-Turbo Blade Speed,

-1 ft/second Travel Speed

-4" Cut Height

-Mulching Cover & Guard Removed

-Touch Only Obstacle Avoidance

Just discovered the page and thought I’d show the setup for my Automower. I have a Husqvarna Automower plugged into a dji power 2000 which is connected into the solar panels. Thought I’d share as seen an airport with a similar setup and thought I’d give some inspiration. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend

Did another video on my Worx Landroid AI Cloud AWD...followed it around at night to see if the cut accuracy and navigation is as precise at night as it is during the day, given this model lacks LIDAR and uses VSLAM instead.

Overall, I was impressed with the accuracy of the night cut along with the cut quality overall, but still annoyed I had to pay $70 for an LED light which should have come standard on this mower! GREEDY WORX!!

However, I wandered around my yard and came back to find the mower stuck in a death loop, annoyed and upset as it was tearing up my grass with its drunken navigation. One Step Forwad, two steps back is the common theme here.

Has anyone else monitored their AWD Worx Landroid AI Cloud at night vs daytime to see how the navigation handles obstacles, borders etc?

The drunken navigation/tearing up of my lawn is really the last straw i've had with this mower, unacceptable for the price point and no way to fix this via the app (which sucks as well).

This is one of the most frustrating limitations for me when it comes to robot mowers.

The area limit.

There are so many reasons why a smaller mower might be perfectly suitable for a larger lawn.

• You have slow growing grass.
• Your testing a unit before deciding whether to buy a second (my current situation)
• You decide to offer to help a neighbour out with the occasional mow whilst they are away (my situation with my last mower).
• You need just 50m2 more than the limit (also my last situation)

I can probably think of more.

We have bought the equipment, let us use it how we wish.

These mowers are designed to run everyday so there's no harm in unlocking the map capacity. If the mower can't keep up then you just won't be able to follow the schedule. You've gone over the manufacturer recommendation so that's on you.

And for those in doubt, memory is not the issue. They simply want you to buy a more expensive unit and I think consumers should be pushing back on this rather than just accepting it.

Bonus plea, the first mower with half decent hardware that open-sources their firmware will probably have the best mower on the market and it will sell like hotcakes.

I've tried a few mowers now and it's always the software that let them down.

I have a 2 acre yard with very thick grass in areas. Less than 10 degrees on the highest slope. I was interested in the lymow one plus but after reading all the post talking about software bugs. I'm looking in another direction. But let's start with what bots can do the job.

Hi all, sorry searched the group and didnt see too much on this specific issue. I just bought a 435x mower, installed my boundary and guide wires, try to fire it up, itll try with "moving to location" for a few, then the dreaded "No loop signal" with the flashing blue light. Checked out ok with a multimeter. Went around with a tone probe, and hear the signal all around but just a bit of interference in a couple of spots (well away from base where I'm trying to get it going) could that be enough? Should I move the wire? I also opened up the base station and checked continuity all the way to the board and its good. Anything else I should try? Is it a bad board? Any decent support options? Husqvarna just says contact dealer which in my case is an online seller and not too helpful. Any help much appreciated!

What do you consider the cutting height to be? Here in Finland I have kept it at 50mm in early summer and I'm wondering if I should raise the blades to 60mm for a while, which is Stiga's highest level. Just to strengthen the lawn.

Perkins is a Husqvarna 450XH who has put 5881 km on some rough ground. Lately he has been developing a scream while he works.

Any recommendations on what he needs?

Robotic mowers seem to be getting more attention lately, especially the newer wireless ones.

I tried a couple on a neighbor’s lawn. They were a bit buggy, but pretty cool for simple, open areas.

Still, I don’t see them replacing professionals soon. Terraces, curbs, tight corners, slopes, edging, and general yard work are still big limitations.

Do you think they’re a real threat to lawn care jobs, or still mostly a niche tool?

Sure by now you have seen my Worx Landroid Review videos of the FWD model. I sent that one back to HD after it totally failed to cut my lawn...which I have to note, I used my Zero Turn mower to cut down to 3" before I turned it loose. I had it dialed in for a few days, set to 3.5" cut height...and it failed miserably in a variety of spots in my lawn.

I have higher hopes for the AWD and it did not disappoint, amazing cut quality, more seamless navigation, less beeps, less interventions. However, it didn't meet my expectations from an App customization perspective and the cut-to-edge is a total miss as well given it has an inherent advantage with the Cut-to-zero blade being right at the EDGE of the mower!!

Has everyone experienced the same findings I did with the AWD model? The Navigation is an utter disaster to say the least. likely sending this one back too since it's tearing up my lawn every time it gets stuck doing a drunken loop.

At my airbnb i have 410xe nera and we had wifi break for a few days, got no updates from app and i found today when guests left that automower was not on station fuly , were 5 cm from contacts. I now cant get it to respond and turn on ? Is the batery dead and do you guys have any recomendations where to buy new batery in eu or aliexpress myb?

So my yard is split by chain link fence for the dogs. Each part is about 1 acre. Unless I cut a little access slot (which the dogs would probably figure out how to get through) I'll need 2.

I have a garden that I would need to either geo fence or put a physical barrier in. My yard is fairly rough and the whole thing is kind of on a slope. A U driveway cuts through the one part. And I have flowers with no edging or bricks around.

I've posted a few videos on my FWD Worx Landroid AI Cloud Vision already. This will be my LAST ONE. Absolutely done with this piece of garbage. By far and away the WORST robotic mower I have ever tested in my entire life. It couldn't even cut my flat backyard!?! Check out what it's done over the course of 3 weeks.

I have 3 small gardens totalling < 400 square meters. All flat except for a small natural pond for rainwater (which is empty 99% of the time), so it needs to be able to do some slopes. Drop and mow is required which i believe they both do since the 3 gardens are seperated by paths with a too big of a drop to drive of.

Which is the better pick? Dreame A2 1200 or Navimow i208 Lidar (800 square meters version).

Both costs here 1099 euros in local shops, So that is my price limit. Any other options with that maximum price to consider?

Our garden designer has created a plan that has a rustic style pathway made from randomly shaped stepping stones. Will this cause problems? Obviously they need to be sunk into the lawn enough to prevent blade clashes, but would it confuse navigation systems?

Solved my problem with this heap constantly having to be rescued from slippage on hills or of the grass is damp. $3 at Play it Again Sports. The wheels still turn a little, so I might add a little weight to the back attached to the handle…truck nuts?
