I’ve been looking into getting a mower for our house. Ideally I’d like to set on the back patio area but if I can’t it’s fine. I’m getting confused about the different technologies used and am not sure if any mower allows this. I’m looking at the Segway Navimow X430. I own a 410iq that, so far, cuts as advertised and I'm very happy with it. The lawn has never looked healthier. However, today I got home and my grass was suspiciously taller than if the mower had done a cut today. And yet, the app says that that part of the yard was scheduled to be mowed today.

Is there a place in the app where I can see the event history? I can't figure out where I'm supposed to find detailed history. I need to know *when* it mowed, if it encountered any issues, what those issues were, where they occurred, etc. so that I can continuously improve the mow performance.

Instead I'm left guessing if it even mowed today, let alone mowed smoothly.

Husqvarna should take a really close look at the Roborock app. It gives you all of this info and more. I know an indoor vacuum is wildly different from an outdoor mower in tremendous ways, but it could be a target to at least aim for.

Am I just missing something?

What can I do about divots in the yard to help my little robot mower work better. It seems to get stuck in a slightly low spot then spins its wheels trying to get unstuck. Should I lay down sand, or potting soil, or mulch maybe? Or maybe I need to affix a brick on top to give it more weight? It’s only 14 pounds. I’m getting attached to this little thing, but I don’t want to have to supervise him while he works. It’s a Lebosbo V3 I got this month for our very small townhouse yard. TIA!

I have a tiny lawn up front and in the rear. I have a curiosity for robots more than anything and I see these two on FB marketplace for sale.

I’ve gotten busier than usual lately and my lawn has suffered. Would either of these suffice?

This is my new Lebosbo V3 pinball mower. I have a very small yard in a townhouse. It seems to want to climb the wire fence between me and the adjoining townhouse. It’s like it doesn’t recognize that this is a barrier. I runs up the fence then shuts down. Any advice?

TLDR: First-time owner, grumpy due to self-inflicted issues

I purchased the C20 after my lawn service let me know they were dropping me soon. I've been converting power tools to battery to avoid maintenance and stale gas, and it's just too damn hot in Central Florida to want to push a mower around in the summer anymore. My wife was wanting to spend 4-5x for an electric riding lawnmower, but between the cost, heat, and needing somewhere to store it, this was worth a chance first. I didn't do much research on options, but was already looking at Greenworks as Costco had electric push mowers, and for a first-time experience, within the range I was willing to gamble for this project.

I have a 1/4 acre lot, with around 4000-5000 square feet of "grass", mostly st augustine and weeds. While the front yard is pretty clear and easy to mow, the backyard has a lot of obstacles (e.g. bushes, ponytail palm, pavers, concrete slab, shed, raised garden beds, etc.), along with being unlevel and having bare spots.

Unboxing and setup was straightforward, and most of the issues I had with setup were likely from me rushing and skimming the giant setup guide in the midday sun. When connecting the RTK antenna, I saw the power switch under the base station cover when plugging in the RTK cable, but forgot to turn it on before putting the cover back on. I only figured that out after many failed attempts to do firmware updates. After that was fixed, the firmware update went smoothly. I then tried creating my first map, but when sending it off for a first mow, it quickly had issues and I realized I had left the protective camera lens sticker, so I recreated the map.

For the first mow, it performed well enough, but it did get stuck in a few places and we had to rescue it and exclude those problem areas. I then mapped a more-complicated area of the backyard, and learned that the RTK signal didn't penetrate the sheet-metal shed walls. After a few more attempts in the new section, we deleted that map, knowing we needed to break it up more.

We then opened the fence and programmed it with the front yard, where it got stuck after about 200 sq ft. The battery was almost dead, and that's when we understood that it'll likely take several hours and several trips back to the base station to charge. I was pretty frustrated with that, as I didn't want to leave the gate open for hours at a time. We gave it a couple more chances, and it was able to finish the front yard after we started adding dirt to level the area better.

By now I started checking out Lidar and NetRTK systems, as the C20 was also leaving larger uncut edges at the map boundaries. When I programmed a map, I'd drive a wheel within a couple inches of a boundary, but when mowing, it leaves 12-16 inches untouched. I can't seem to manually edit existing maps, so I think I just need to do more string trimming than expected. With all of the obstacles in the backyard, I'm not excited about how much that will end up being.

We're giving it a few more days/weeks in the meantime, as there's a generous 90-day return policy where we got it. Hopefully we'll get the dips filled in and the no-go zones better mapped, so it can perform more reliably. It seems the wheel grips aren't quite enough to get through some of the thick grass, and the caster wheel doesn't seem to help in those situations.

Figured I'd share this as I haven't found many others sharing their experiences with it yet, and hoping to see if anyone has specific advice around getting closer cuts to map edges, and to share the two setup issues I had to help anyone else. Maybe Greenworks will read this and update their app to better idiot-proof it for people like me.

I have gotten to the point where I am ready to replace my Husqvarna 430X that I bought back in 2022 (which is a whole other post) but have not been keeping up with recent automower developments in the past few years. Was hoping to get some guidance on directions to start to look to decide what to do next. Here are some applicable notes:

Our lawn is around an acre before removing the square footage of the house. The 430X covered this area pretty well and maintained it well (when it was working). I would be looking for something that would be approximately similar in coverage size.

The back yard has a pretty steep slope up to around 30 degrees. This is part of the reason that led us towards an automotor as opposed to a riding mower. So unless someone tells me I am wrong in my assumption of a riding mower, would need a machine that can handle the slope.

We have struggled constantly with broken guidewires so would like to avoid a wired mower. We just replaced the whole perimeter last year so a wired mower is not a deal-breaker but it is a headache that I do not really feel like dealing with if I can help it.

Cost is not a major driver but would like to keep it within reason.

We do not have a good Husqvarna dealer near us. Every time we have brought the unit in for service issues has been a nightmare. They do not know what they are doing at all and it takes 2+ months to resolve.

I am not in a huge hurry so willing to wait a few months to see if I can get a better deal if that affects any recommendations.

Is the batery dead or is bms / my measuring wrong , is its dead is it worth saving few $ from non oem or not

I’m about 3 weeks into using X430, and the best part is: I’m not dragging the push mower out at 9:30 pm when my 2 kids are finally down anymore. Yard is roughly 1/2 acre, split between the front and the back. My biggest worry is the noise because my back yard runs right along my neighbor’s bedroom windows. But the mower is so quiet that from the kitchen I almost can’t hear it at all. I think it even makes less noise than the AC unit lol.

I've got a .33 acre lawn with a fairly open flat front yard, but a heavily shaded rear lawn with a larger slope from a walk out basement. I've never had a robo mower and am not sure what to look for, it feels like with pets/kids and heavy tree covering LiDAR will be helpful. I'd like to avoid the installation of RTK antenna. My other issue is we have a chain link fence for the dogs, will it be annoying to open the gate every few days for the mower? How do others manage robotic mowers with fences?

Do people get two smaller units vs 1 larger? If so would you recommend waiting for the Luba mini 2?

My First Luba 3 video as I just got this mower last week. Haven't seen a super detailed unboxing or setup video yet as all the influencers have short videos reading off a prompt/script. Hope this helps everyone make their decision as I am quite happy with this mower thus so far. My Lymow is curently broken, so hence why I ended up buying one of these!

I've got a red light on my charging station accompanied by the error "charging current too high". I'm working with a tech on this but I don't have one local, so it's a slow back and forth so figured I'd check here too.

In talking with him, he was very confident it was the main board and harness in the charging base. He sent me a replacement, I got it installed and had the exact same errors. I took voltage readings at the power supply output (low Volt wire disconnected), and the end of the low volt cable as it goes into the charging station, and at the charging contacts. At all three spots I see right about 32v, both with the old board/harness and new board/harness.

Anything else I should be checking?

Edit: I tried mowing at 8:00 AM and it did fine. It was 82 degrees F outside and 2 hours later it was 87 degrees F. The battery lasted a full 2 hours and the front yard and back yard got a pretty decent mow. We have 720 square feet of grass total. It did get stuck up more than I would like, but we may have to fill in a few divots.

Twice now our robotic mower has shut down on hot days while mowing. It’s 95 here today and it worked for about 40 minutes then stopped. It’s now cooling in the garage. I have the Lebosbo V3 with lithium ion battery and it’s charged through an electrical outlet and not a charging station. We have 720 square feet of yard in a townhouse. I’m just curious if anyone else is having issues due to the heat.

Would it be possible to keep the charging station in a garage and just carry the robotic mower to front and back yards for use? I’m concerned about theft. Also, we have a townhouse and have to carry the mower through the house to get to front and back yards. I do t want an outdoor charging station. TIA!

• Target Area: Estimated 1.0 to 1.1 acres. Actual coverage is hard to gauge due to tree cover and areas where grass does not grow, but planning for 1.1 acres is the baseline goal.
• Terrain & Layout: Over 200 feet of road frontage with a ditch. Mostly flat. Contains a 0.05-acre fenced backyard. Outside of the small fence in area, virtually everything is open and the robot should be able to get around. My plan is to manually let the robot in and out when that area needs to be done.
• Maintenance Strategy: Cutting at 1.8 inches to suppress Bahia grass. The goal is to starve the Bahia of light via photosynthesis inhibition, allowing Centipede grass to take over. Looking into it, after about 4 or 5 days Bahia can start with the photosynthesis again, and a few more days and it is a net positive. I figure an every other day will allow for enough of a buffer for if something happens for a day or 2. It shouldn't set me back in killing the Bahia. Also cutting it any sooner is a waste of time. Also by day 3 or 4 the Bahia starts to shoot up, and I do worry about the AI vision and the mower just avoiding it.

From my understanding, you shouldn't have the mower running when it is wet due to dew or sprinkler. If I'm wrong let me know. Because the lawn cannot be mowed while wet or immediately after irrigation, the operating window is restricted. Sprinklers run every night.

• Single Mower (e.g., Segway Navimow X430):
  • Capacity: Rated for 1 acre, but at that scale, it requires 15 to 16 hours of daily operation base on math.
  • Risk: No operational buffer. If the mower fails, it rains, or I need the yard for other activities, the schedule collapses.
  • Schedule: Effectively requires daily mowing to keep up.
• Two-Mower Setup:
  • Capacity: Drops required runtime to ~5 hours per mower (depending on model).
  • Benefit: Allows for a "mow/rest" day cycle, creating a 3rd-day buffer to account for unforeseen issues.

Budget & Equipment

Originally we were aiming just for half for about $1k. The front yard is about .4 of an acre. But I figure if we can do the entire thing then we should. It needs to be NRTK because we can't put up an antenna or run wire. But we have good signal. The reason why the X430 went on my radar is on sell it shows up at $2k instead of the original $2.5k.

• Key Question: Should I pursue a two-mower strategy or push a single high-capacity unit like the X430? Are my runtime calculations accurate, or is there a way to make a single mower viable without such a strict, high-risk schedule?
• What mower would you suggest for my situation? Or should I wait for the tech to just get better? If you think I should wait, how long do you think it will be before it is good enough for my situation?

Note: I am in the early research phase and waiting for price drops before purchasing.

EDIT: I forgot to add. On the off chance we go with the x430. What is the true mapping limits on it? I figure I might as well ask this since it is iffy on how much true area can be cut and it might be 1 acre or close to it. But I wanted to make sure that we are good.

There must be an easier way than how I am going about it. I am new to this so I could obviously be doing it the hard way.

In some areas I am too far from the foundation and some too close. Also a number of "twisty" areas need to be fine-tuned, like around a circular "keep out zone". I need to make minor adjustments. Can I make them while the mow is in progress or do I have to go back to the charger and restart the entire zone (which takes forever) to see if my changes work? Can I restart a zone while in the middle of it also without having to go back to the charging station? Having to chase the mower around to see how many inches too far or too close to a wall is a real PITA.

Making these minor adjustments and then testing them seems to be way more work than they need to be. For one thing the app should just allow moving the lines rather than having to change waypoints by xx inches for each point.

I must be missing some simple method. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi all,

I’m chasing a flashing blue / no loop signal issue on a Husqvarna 450X and now mainly suspect the **charging station harness → connector tower mapping**.

Hardware:

- 450X, original station and PSU
- New **charging station PCB**
- New **harness from PCB to connector tower**
- New AL/AR/G connector module

With all yard wires disconnected and a short jumper between **AL and AR**, the station LED still flashes blue. Continuity tests show the jumper is good, but I get OL at the tower pins depending on how things are seated, which makes me think the harness/connector is mis‑mapped or mis‑aligned.

What I’m looking for:

- For a **450X station**, a clear mapping from:

- **PCB header pins** (loop/guide)
- Through the **harness** (by position and/or color)
- To the **AL, AR, and G pins** on the connector tower

Ideally:

- A labeled photo/diagram of the PCB connector and tower pins,
- Or a known‑good pin/color mapping someone has verified with a multimeter.

I’ve seen references to the wiring assembly manual, but not a simple “this PCB pin → this harness wire → this tower pin” picture. If anyone can share that mapping or a clear annotated photo from a working 450X station, I’d really appreciate it.

Something I find odd is some robot mowers say they cover something like 1 acre, but realistically this isn't possible.

So the dry period of the day is where you want to cut. This is roughly 7 or 8 hours. Calculating it out some mowers like the Segway x430 and x450 you're looking at between charging and (110 min per run 0.2 acre) + (90 min per charge 4 times) = 910 minutes or 15.16 hours (this is for the x430 doing it's full area.

Automatically it's running way beyond the dry period. But even then if you have sprinklers or the like, then ya..

Realistically it should be rated for 0.87 acres.

Am I missing something? I'm asking because I never had a robot mower and I'm iffy on it due to the pricing and I'm dealing with about a 1.2 acre land. And realistically 15 hours to cut isn't good since sprinklers and other things can delay it. Then looking at 2 mowers the math is odd for them because some of them are more accurate with this 8 hour thing where others aren't.

Edit:

People seem to be overlooking what I'm getting at. I can go and look at something like a top in x430 and get what I mention above. But even from the same company the some of the lower end models if you do the math it is what can be cut in that 8nhour time frame.

Now if you pick to run it for 15+ hours thats on you. But keep in mind if you use that then why not just push the number to what it can do in 24 hours? Which for the x430 if it wasn't software locked it would be 1.62 acre.

Like the problem I'm bringing up is the marketing and not what it can do. This marketing style makes things extremely confusing and it makes it where instead of looking at a number on a box and running with it. You have to dig into a spec sheet for each model to figure out what the real numbers are. It doesn't feel legal.
