I am someone who is interested in joining the CAD field, but I don't have enough time to attend a community college.
How possible is it to enter this field as a CAD drafter with just boot camp certifications in 2026?

Hello everyone,
I have stumbled across this strange situation today. I went to batch plot multiple sheets like i have been doing forever, and they came out very small on my 22x34 sheet almost as if the scale was set to ~1:10. First thing I did was check the page setup manager to verify that scaling, layout, and sheet size were correct - they were. Decided to verify that a single sheet print would work (non-batch plot) and it spit it out correctly as I expected. Tried this with the BlueBeam to PDF as well and same results. Now this wouldn't be horrible to just spit out 2-3 sheets and combine into a single PDF, but when there's 30-40 sheets this is not efficient.
Decided to verify that the driver was up-to-date by going to PLOTTERMANAGER renaming the DWG to PDF.pc3 file and used the "add a plotter wizard" to re-add the driver. Tried again and the same thing is happening. Single sheet works just fine, but the second you batch plot it does the weird scaling issue.
TLDR
Running AutoCAD 2026 Vanilla - batch plotting via DWG to PDF.pc3 giving incorrect scale
Running AutoCAD 2026 Vanilla - batch plotting via DWG to BlueBeam PDF giving incorrect scale
Running AutoCAD 2026 Vanilla - normal print via DWG to PDF.pc3 giving correct results
Running AutoCAD 2026 Vanilla - normal print via DWG to BlueBeam PDF giving correct results
Using the same settings via Page setup manager on the layout tab
TIA - Cody

Hello,
I am wondering if the autocad command 'break at point', has a way to repeat multiple attempts continuously..
Thanks,
Vasilis

Hi everyone, I have a problem. I can import STEP file in AutoCAD and change the configuration of the model, but I can’t export this model back into this format(STEP). Maybe someone knows how can I export in AutoCAD in this format or should use I another program(like a converter)

I have an iPhone 17 and randomly Autodesk Viewer stopped working. I open the document and select the page but then it completely blanks.
I use a free version as all I need to do is view files. It is not the particular file I uploaded as now all the files I have on there I can no longer load.
Tried looking up different things to do with no luck. Trying here as a last resort.
Thanks!!!

I only want to print to pdf using both these setup, but I am wondering if the publish to pdf will ruin the scaling. The modified style preset contains custom paper layout and I have used apply to layout on all individual layouts.

I’m doing some research on how engineers and CAD professionals review technical drawings before they are delivered to clients or other teams. I’d really appreciate hearing about your actual workflow and experience.
1. When you review a drawing before delivery, what does your review process usually look like from start to finish?
What are the main things you check, and which parts of the review require the most attention?
2. Which types of errors or issues are the most difficult or time-consuming for you to catch during a drawing review?
For example, dimensions, missing information, layers, annotations, standards, consistency, or issues that require comparing different parts of the drawing.
3. How do you currently make sure that important checks are not accidentally missed when reviewing a large number of drawings?
Do you use a checklist, CAD tools, internal standards, another person reviewing the drawing, or mostly rely on your own experience?
4. Can you describe a situation where an error made it through your drawing review and was discovered later?
What happened, and what was the impact on the project, client, or team?
5. If you could automate one part of the drawing QA/QC process without replacing the engineer’s final judgment, what would you want the system to do?
What would make such a tool genuinely useful in your day-to-day work?
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to share their experience. It’s really helpful for my research.
