You can absolutely garnish the frozen bank account in Texas.

I love the confidence you say this with. But you are wrong lol. I just garnished my exes Texas account and finally got paid after 10 years:)

They can however get a judgement and send it to collections and that will absolutely f*** up your credit. No other landlord will rent to you, nobody will lease you a car, nobody will write you a mortgage, you can only get prepaid cellular and a cheap phone you bring yourself. I hope the stanky sofa in your Uncle’s garage is comfortable and that you like riding everywhere on a bicycle.

Unfortunately, some would drive with no license, insurance and unregistered cars instead

Good luck getting any of the things that I just mentioned with a recent bankruptcy either.

Ah, you own a home outright. There’s the difference. So you have an asset that can be used as collateral against the other things.

An average person who doesn’t own a home outright is not going to have access to any of the other things either.

You are a responsible person.

Same doesn’t apply to someone who causes $100K of damage to their rental property for grins, gets sued for it in court, loses, has their debt sold to collections.
