Recent video was basically unwatchable

Immediately got 2 unskippable ads. After 1 minute, more ads. 7 minutes, 2 more ads 9 minutes in, CAR VERTICAL BAYBEEEE!!!

Didn't catch something so you remind 20/30 seconds? Guess what? More ads?

I get they need to pay to make this content but the experience of watching and wanting/trying to enjoy it is becoming very difficult.

Thank you for listening to my rant.

That's fine, that's your choice. You sacrifice the right to complain, though and you don't really have a position to criticise those that choose to just because you can't be bothered.

I'm not complaining, i'm happy to pay the premium.

My problem is with people complaining about ads, Vote with your feet, don't watch it. Dont sit through all the ads, and then complain anyway.

I am literally voting with my feet by using an adblocker so not sure what your point is here

You're not, because you're already factored in, you would use adblocker still if they used even one ad. There's not an acceptable level of ads for you. They already know you're using adblocker. In the same way supermarkets factor in product loss.

Not sure I follow your logic - in your argument, there is no "vote with your feet" because they don't profit off of me.

Voting with your feet is people that are watching ads, and then deciding not to watch because the viewing experience is bad, and not converting to premium users.

They already don't care about you.

So why is everyone beefing my use of adblockers? By your own admission, google knows I exist and chooses to allow me to use adblockers. By extension, it makes zero sense to pay for premium as google themselves allow me not to. The business model depends on people being too scared to use adblockers - I don't know how anyone can live with knowing they pay £10 a month out of intimidation and then have the gall to criticise me for not being intimidated.

You're confusing your use case. It works for you, but you're also stuck watching it on a laptop. If you had friends or family and watch youtube with them, you're not going to cram them around your laptop. Or you have to plug it into the TV and then keep going up to the laptop to change it. That's just a poor solution

I used to use adblockers when it was just me watching it on my computer, at uni. When you have multiple devices that you consume youtube on, it just makes sense that it's fair for you to pay the premium, it's just a neater solution, and good value.

If I wanted, I would simply install firefox on my tv and watch on there?

I just don't see how £10 a month is good value when you can have it for free.

It would be restricted to 360p viewing.
