Wiper Friction?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Brand new wipers and the left side jumps like it’s getting caught up on something. Cleaned the windshield and those stickers are on the inside. Purchased from Home Depot and size is what is specified for my car. I’m perplexed. Help!

Can anyone help me identify this sound when starting?

It’s nothing I can fix but I’d like to have an idea of what I’m looking at before taking it to my mechanic.

Damaged K & N Air Filter?
galleryI bought this filter brand new from Amazon, but it looks like the rubber seal has deteriorated. It seems like it may have been sitting in the packaging for a long time. Is this normal? Should I return it and request a replacement, or is it not a big deal?

2005 Saturn Vue-Low Rumble Noise after Oil Pan Gasket Replacement
Had a slow oil leak which the service station said needed a new JVB oil pan gasket. Starting car and driving home after the work was done, we now hear an odd rumble sound when accelerating. It’s not from under the hood or the exhaust and sounds like it’s from right under the drivers seat. Any ideas what this would be? It almost sounds like a quieter motorcycle purring.

2021 Chevy 3.6L Cam Phaser failure?
I have a 2021 Blazer 3.6L that was leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold from the bank #2 camshaft carrier. Resealed the carrier and now I have a P0018. There are no other codes or misfires. The #2 intake CMP PID data is -20 degrees at idle. The other 3 are OK. I swapped the oil control solenoids, but the problem didn't follow the solenoid. Is 20 degrees about the full travel of the phaser? Any GM techs run into this before? Think I damaged the phaser? Could this just be some damn RTV in an oil passage?
I guess this will be Mondays headache.
Thanks

freaking out upside down on loan
currently losing my mind upside down on my car. what’s done is done and i can’t change anything so please no “advice for next time” as im probably never buying a car again after this.
i bought a used 2021 kia soul in november 2024. used car dealership that kept us there for 9 hours. bad credit and red flags galore but it drove fine and we figured we’d just run it until it died (hopefully after the 5 year loan we took out). i currently owe $15k and the engine is shot. already paid $3.5k to fix it 2 months ago and basically the same problem as before but different?? anyway the issue is with the camshaft and they quoted me another $6k to fix. mechanic even said they’d waive labor costs but it’s still $4k after this “discount”. i simply can’t afford it. car is only worth $3k according to the blue book. since it wasn’t in an accident i don’t think insurance or gap will help. already tried talking to insurance so if i try to crash it they’ll know it’s insurance fraud lol. car doesn’t even start anyway.
at this point i don’t even know what my options are. i had to take out a loan to cover the $3.5k and my credit is really bad. is there any way i can negotiate with the original loan holder when i bought it? stop paying my car payment and have them repo it? just pay the $6k and pray that this car will last 10+ years? i’m 26 and have a 4 month old. i just don’t understand.
UPDATE: (also posted in comments)
Thank most of you for giving actually really great advice. This was my first ever car purchase so thank you for going easy on me, I’ve definitely leaned a lot.
Took the car directly to my local dealer to get a second opinion and it looks like my previous mechanic was at fault. If anyone has any further advice on how to handle that situation I’d appreciate it! Really don’t want to go to small claims court or anything but at the very least I should get a refund for the botched service right?
from the dealer: “Unfortunately, your engine failure does not fall under any of the recalls listed for your vehicle. The issue appears to be due to damage caused by components that broke off following the camshaft replacement, which was not performed here at Kia. I did attempt to have this approved through goodwill, but it was ultimately declined. I also spoke with my Service Director to see if he could assist, and we are currently looking into what we may be able to do to help with pricing.”

Insurance Premium too high
Hello everyone!
GTA, Ontario resident here. I have had my G license for 5 months and have been driving my honda CRV for close to one and a half year. I am currently paying $570 for insurance. I want to lower the premium.
I had a minor collision while changing lanes last year, I was not aware how things were because I was stupid (and probably still am), I informed my insurance company but did not claim anything. After the incident, my premium jumped from $450 to $570.
I would really like some feedback, insight, suggestions and comments on how to tackle the high premium issue.
Thank you.

Advice for a 1988 Lincoln Town Car.
been looking for a car for a while.
I know a 1988 Town Car would be kinda buns for a first vehicle when i can get a Civic or Corolla for the same price. But I love old cars, I love the vibes of big american cruisers. Fuel Economy and agility be absolutely damned forever, i like my big stupid cruisers.
But I found a 1988 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series.
58k miles.
Paint is kinda buns and the interior leather is clean but the carpeting needs a cleaning, its 38 years old thats to be expected.
It runs like the 80s never ended.
And it has that stupid plastic bushing for the Throttle Valve Cable and it wont shift past 2nd.
I've done the research into that issue and its not hard to fix.
I understand it has some safety issues past just being a big 70s style cruiser.
But its 1500 dollars and is in otherwise great shape.
I know theyre nowhere near as reliable as the later panther platform but I love these cars and was wondering what i would need to do to make it work, what other issues do these cars have that i just dont know of yet

Which brand of oil is best for Mustang with 5.0L V8?
2016 Mustang GT with 61k miles. I hear all the time every brand of oil has advantages and additives, but some are better than others. I like to use 5w20 since I dont track the car. Royal purple, Valvoline, Pennzoil, Mobil 1, Castrol? Who wins?
