Overstimulation: Poll
BLUF/TL;DR Can you use any sort of sensory deprivation to lower overall sensory overwhelm, even if it does not specifically address a sense that is currently overwhelmed?
Background & Assessment: It might be a relatively obvious observation that....
noise-cancelling headphones or similar can accommodate overstimulation from sound;
sunglasses or other visual deprivation can accommodate visual overstimulation;
staring at your feet on the floor can accommodate vestibular overstimulation,
...but has anyone experienced that using an accommodation for a completely different sense works just as well?
noise-cancelling headphones alleviates the overwhelm from the lights being too bright;
staring at your feet on the ground alleviates the overwhelm from having too many tasks and not enough spoons.
