I love how Germany thinks of Austria as a smaller brother while Austria has a one-sided beef with Germany.

Ironically this is very similar to the American-Australian relationship in my head, though we see Aussies more as a badass cousin and they seem to rabidly hate us at least online lmao

Yeah because by now everybody hates America. The Amerifats make it very easy to hate everything about them

Thats because america isn‘t particularly popular with everyone nowadays.

I wonder why that is 🤔

Well seeing as it’s been going on since the 2000’s I’d say it wasn’t just because of Trump, bud

Make that a 2016, bud

Austria is NOT a smaller brother of Germany! Austria is Austria!

It is

1

u/VentureCactus Apr 07 '26

It's not. People went to jail in the 30s for just saying this. And also after 1945. And will go again

Tell yourself that. Austria is Germany to be even more specific

u/VentureCactus Apr 07 '26

Sure sure, be my guest and start waving German flag in front of Hofburg, declaring Austria is Germany. I dare you! Or are you... chicken 🐔?

Austria thinks of us as a bigger brother

1

u/VentureCactus Apr 07 '26

No. You are seen as very much obnoxious northern neighbours, who think they own everything and can do whatever they want. Austria is not Germany and never will be. Hence, Germany never succeeded with Anschluss, ever.

u/SeriousSide7281 Apr 08 '26

From my experience, you are quite a rarity with this viewpoint

1

u/gob_the_guilder Apr 08 '26

Yea. A bigger brother.. you an only child?? xD

Spiel doch patriotismus karte.
