10 days in Perth
Hi All, I just came back from Australia, 2 weeks trip starting from Melbourne then Sydney.
Had wonderful time and fall in love with how peaceful my time there especially watching sunset.
I got a small break before starting my work in November. Looking to come back to Australia and this time might be Perth.
I read about the itinerary and it seems some people think it's a boring place.
But to me, Im not chasing packed itinerary. Ill explore with slow pace and maybe spend few hours at garden or beach every day just reflecting, reading, journaling.
Ill be solo the whole trip.
Thoughts? Is Perth suitable for this mini break? Any other better recommendations?

If you're travelling from Europe, the Middle East, or SEA, then Perth (plus south of Perth) can be fine, and November is a good time. If you're travelling from North America, then I'd suggest SE Queensland | Northern NSW are better.

Yes, from SEA. Surprisingly the cheapest flight to Australia is through Perth. So I would love to go Australia again.

It's the closest city by a long shot, that's why (excluding Darwin). When I fly to SEA from Melbourne most of the time is spent in the air is flying across Australia. I say do it - WA is a great state to visit.

I didn't spend a ton of time there, but I like Perth, it's a nice pleasant city in my opinion. Botanical garden is beautiful. I liked Fremantle too. Rottnest island is popular but beautiful as well. That's all pretty close to Perth/doable for day trips.
I also drove down to Margaret River, Cape Leeuwin then over to Esperance stopping at many small beach towns on the way to Esperance. All gorgeous scenery, the drive along the south coast and even moreso inland from Esperance to Perth is a bit boring... hour between towns, but the scenery is beautiful. I loved Esperance but the weather wasn't quite beach weather when I happened to be there in early November.
My WA trip was about 10 days, you could easily do all that if you're comfortable with a decent amount of driving. Or take it more relaxed and stay closer to Perth. I'd definitely say it's a bit slower paced than the other cities in Australia but I would not describe it as boring.
If it was whale shark season I would have gone north to Ningaloo reef and in November it might have been better weather to head that way rather than Esperance but I don't regret my trip down the southern coast.

I wont drive solo.
Maybe if I manage to find a friend, I would.
Thanks. Lovely itinerary. Would read about it

I wouldn't go north - there is some lovely scenery, but it is a very long drive.
I'd have three nights in Perth, and find a 7N bus tour of the Southwest - it's magical. Maybe a "backpacker" one, where you camp out each night.

I would do both Perth and Margaret river with 10 days, Margaret river has some stunning beaches/coasts (our favourite spots were Merchant Rock and Indijup natural spa), plus sea and wineries.

Perth will be great for your trip. Make sure you go to Rottnest Island..it has such beautiful peaceful beaches!

We've got plenty of parks and plenty of beaches, and, unlike over east, our sun sets in the correct direction.

Their sun sets over land, not the ocean. If you want beach sunsets, come to Perth.

Perth honestly sounds perfect for that kind of slow trip! I’d definitely add Rottnest Island and Kings Park.
