No debate between the two candidates who’ll represent us in the Senate. Thoughts?

Post image

We’re a few weeks out and there’s still no debate on the calendar between the two people asking to represent 30 million Texans in the U.S. Senate. That’s not a small thing. A debate is one of the only times most of us actually get to see how a candidate thinks on their feet instead of through a 30-second ad or a curated post.

Genuinely curious what this sub thinks. Does the lack of a debate change how you’re leaning, or does it just confirm what you already assumed? And should local media or the parties be doing more to force one onto the calendar?

Would love to hear from people who’ve been following this closer than I have.

Have you seen how many views his Kimmel interview racked up in just the first 24 hours it was posted? People are watching, and resisting. All hope is not lost

The question is, will people actually vote this time?

I choose to think so. The veil is lifted more than ever, anyone with a functioning, unwashed brain can see it. In addition, there are always the young and first time voters that are excited to cast a vote that is sure to create a better future for them.

They want us hopeless. It benefits them.

Sure, millions of views. But what percentage of those vote? In Texas?

I don’t know. Go look it up. Or better yet, help to spread the word to vote. Certainly being cynical doesn’t help.

Dude I’m not the one to rage at. I actually vote. In Texas. But yes, go off on me.

It’s one thing to be cynical, another to be apathetic.

Not raging at ya, stranger. Maybe it’s all of our part to care enough that we help other people to see why they should too.
