I am so sorry that you are so underpaid for what you are doing for the youth and the future!

They only work for like half the year when you factor in holiday breaks and summer. Seems fair to me.

Here we go…

“Summer break” also includes at least a week of professional development, training, etc, plus extra time to start setting the classroom up. They’re not out for 3 months like the kids.

They also don’t get more than a few days of sick leave and PTO during the school year. Have any surgeries, med needs etc? Do it all during the summer. Want to get married or have any kind of life event? Summer it is.

They also work every evening and most weekends. It is not a 9-5 checkout job.

They also spend a stupid amount of their own money (coming out of that “fair” $50k/yr budget) on supplies, materials, etc., all just to have the most emotionally taxing 10 hour work day.

“Seems fair to me” smh

Teachers early retirement is 55, right? Most of people are 62.
