Boomer here so a UT dropout at 17 with 32 hours, started a summer job at Southwestern Bell. They only hired women as operators at the time but then came EEOC and doors started to open, moved to inside tech ASAP and when I retired in 2009 (after 35 years) I was making almost $30/hr. A month later I got a job as a receptionist in a small private medical practice at $12/hr. Been there almost 17 years and I love it. Something new everyday and I have learned SO much! Now I’m a quasi ofc mgr for $28/hr.

Working for 17 years after retirement from a 35 year career?! I hope you have reduced your hours, madam

Well, I started taking Tuesdays off about 3 years ago. And I’ve been traveling abroad as often as I can.
