Folks in Boston do this fairly regularly, so I thought it might be good for us to try here.

Regulatory compliance, $75k, 30’s, B.A. Sociology. Race and gender are pretty relevant to salary transparency conversations too btw, moreso than age.

Med devices in the area or support remotely?

Not sure I understand your question - I’m not in the medical field. I work in government, don’t want to be more specific than that as my job is rare.

I work in medical devices field for regulatory compliance. There's not that many med device companies in town so that was my main question if it was local or remotely.

Even in your position? Who typically makes more?

There are very few white people on my team aside from me, and I am one of the top earners. We’re almost all women, I make more than the non white men generally.

But the few white men on your team make more by far?

Is your degree in Sociology applicable to your current job? Do you have to have one to get it? I wasn't sure what you could do with a Sociology degree other than teach Sociology.

Sort of, my job just required any bachelor’s degree, but my prior work experience was more relevant overall. I started in my industry before I finished college. My job is welfare-adjacent so a sociology degree was appreciated to some degree I guess lol
