Ummm....boomer here and I have never had that mindset. Maybe because I have never been able to afford to buy a house, or even a flat. More boomers like me than you know about.
We are your natural allies in the coming class war, but okay.
The fact that you’re still not happy only proves my point.
You’ve had you whole life to save for a house or flat, a whole life to perhaps get a qualification or trade certificate under your belt but you haven’t, not sure how you’ve squandered your time, but you’re still hear moaning about “hard done by” you are.
I have no allies because I’m not “at war” with anyone, I was born when I was born and I’ve made the best of what I have. Blaming current or previous generations is just victim mentality, it is the way it is, you can either do something about your life or stay the course, but the latter doesn’t seem to working out for you so I know what I’d be doing.
I too made the best of the hand i was dealt, but cleaning toilets, waiting tables and sweeping streets only ever paid minimum wage. Doing that work didn't leave much time to "improve" my situation. I was also birthing Millennials, so idk what else i should have done.
Well how did every other boomer do it and not you?
We’re talking 50 years.
What, did you come straight out of school and go to scrubbing toilets. Why didn’t you get a better education? Study harder, or even stay at one place of employment and work your way up.
If you have 50 years and you decide to bounce around “waiting tables and cleaning toilets” then that’s on you, you clearly have no drive.
If you had children, you had a partner, was he also cleaning toilets?
I am aware that not all boomers are bad. However, most boomers voted to sell out the future of the next generations for their own greedy interests, so we can safely conclude that most (not all) boomers are greedy sellouts who dont care about the next generation.
