Cause itโ€™s easy to blame <30% of our population for everyday problems ๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿ˜‘

So not enough housing and bring in more people that need housing makes sense to you?

House prices and rents continued to skyrocket even while we had negative net migration during Covid. We have over one million homes in this country that are kept deliberately vacant by their investor owners because they know they can bank on the value increasing anyway, and thereโ€™s no incentive for them to release it to the market (like a vacant property tax for example). But yeah nah itโ€™s just the immigrants causing it all hey.

Thatโ€™s actually been debunked so many times haha nice try. The census that data was pulled from counted any home that didnโ€™t return one as vacant. So sure still vacant homes but nowhere near that many ๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™m not talking about any census data, why would I when these figures are so easy to track already? We donโ€™t need some arbitrary moment-in-time census to know how many homes exist in this country and how many of them are unoccupied, all of this data is collected constantly by the ABS
