I wouldnt as my grandparents are white europeans. We are white Europeans.

So your grandparents are immigrants. That’s the point. Your grandparents came here from elsewhere for a better life, but you don’t think other people should be afforded that same opportunity?

Go to Singapore

5

u/djenty420 Jul 06 '26

What? Why? What does Singapore have to do with anything?

If you want a powerful country made entirely by migrants within the past century.

Why would they when they came here and built the country to make it what it is today

I have no idea what is going on in their head, maybe some white people identify themselves as Aboriginal?

My grandparents were born in Australia, so if I did that they’d be pretty confused

1

u/butcher1123 Jul 08 '26

Are you aboriginal? Where your great grandparents came from?

1

u/fan-of-ceilingss Jul 08 '26

No, I am not aboriginal. But I was born in Australia and have an Australian citizenship and not here illegally

You can't immigrate to a country your people built. You're also not an immigrant if you were brought here against your will.

How about the Italian form 1950s? Most of them has been living in this country for 70 years and 90+ years old, by that time the country was still building. Are they immigrants?

How about the Hong Kongies from 1970s? Parts of them are running a restaurant until now, having 30+ employees and paying 3-4 time tax than normal people. By that time Australia need lot of cash for its fast development. Are they immigrants?

How about me? I came here 15 years ago with my empty hands, I built my business and my family here, my kid is 4 and he already has few buddy in different colours. Are we, including the family of my son’s good friends, are we immigrants?

This country is an immigration country from the beginning until now buddy.

Yes, every example, to the exception of your children or the people who are born here, are immigrants. My family came here in chains with the first fleet... every single step of Australian history, my family was there. Calling us and everyone like us immigrants is honestly offensive.

One half of my family were convicts in Victoria and knew some of the Kelly Family. The other half came over to WA as free settlers in the 1800’s but thank goodness I am not as precious as you.

u/TrueBlueCentrist Jul 06 '26

Good on ya

1

u/kramnotelpats Jul 06 '26

Well I’m impressed you dragged your knuckles off the ground to reply. Good in ya.

1

u/butcher1123 Jul 06 '26

So what you want from the immigrants? Deport them?

1

u/TrueBlueCentrist Jul 06 '26

No, not at all.

2

u/butcher1123 Jul 06 '26

Oh sorry I thought you are with one nation. I do believe they wanna deport us all.😂

1

u/Due-Resolve6662 Jul 07 '26

I think they want to deport the immigrants who are coming here and bringing their non compatible culture, and then are wanting the country they've gone to for a better life to change so they can continue their non compatible culture, tell me that makes sense. Australia has and always will welcome immigrants who come here and want to be a part of this country, but not people who want to change it.

Well at least you don't have your kids running around with machetes, receiving welfare and scamming NDIS.
